Three ESN Participants Win Fulbright TEA Program
π₯³Khumora Muslimova, Nigora Karimova and Mashkhura Tursunova are taking academic seminars for professional development at California State University in Chico.
πThe Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) Program brings secondary-level teachers of English, English as a Foreign Language, math, science, and social studies, including special education teachers in those subjects, to the United States for a six-week program to take academic seminars for professional development at a host university and to observe and share their expertise with teachers and students at the host university and at local secondary schools.
"The ESN program has had a significant impact on me. It helped me improve my self-confidence, build my leadership skills, and introduced me to other skilled teachers in Uzbekistan. Together, we built a large Teachers' Community where we share ideas and support each other. In one word, the ESN program was the first step towards all the success I have achieved since then." Khumora Muslimova recalls.
πAmerican Councils Uzbekistan is happy for the professional achievements of ESN program participants. We wish good luck on their study!

πConsultancy opportunity alert! Coordinator - Buston (Andijan region) English Access Microscholarship Program
American Councils for International Education is a premier, international non-profit organization creating educational opportunities that prepare individuals and institutions to succeed in an increasingly interconnected world. Through academic exchanges, overseas language immersion, and educational development programs, American Councils has designed and administered innovative programs that broaden individual perspectives, increase knowledge and deepen understanding for more than 40 years across more than 80 countries.
The English Access Microscholarship Program (Access) is a student-centered program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Embassies that provides English language skills to underserved students (primarily 13-20 years old) worldwide through extracurricular classes and activities. Access provides participants with a foundation of English language, leadership and professional skills, and exposure to U.S. culture and democratic values that may lead to better jobs and educational prospects, including future exchanges and study in the United States. The global Access Program has provided scholarships to more than 200,000 students in over 80 countries since its inception in 2004.
In Uzbekistan, the English Access Microscholarship Program has operated continuously since 2007, both as the English Access Microscholarship Program and as the English Access for STEM Program. There are currently 18 Access sites across nine regions and Karakalpakstan β several of which have operated since the beginning of the Access program in Uzbekistan. American Councils currently serves as the primary implementing partner for the Access program in Uzbekistan.
American Councils is currently soliciting for an open coordinator position at Buston Access.
