Approximate flight routes of the missiles used in last night's massive Russian combined missile attack on Ukraine:

The following was launched:

~70 Kh-101 cruise missiles
~17 Iskander-M ballistic missiles
~6 Kn-23 ballistic missiles
~4 Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles
~2 Oniks-M supersonic cruise missiles

~99 missiles in total.

The following was struck:

- The Prydniprovska Thermal Power Plant in Dnipro by ~17 Kh-101s, ~6 Iskander-Ms, and ~4 Kn-23s.

- The Ladyzhyn Thermal Power Plant in Vinnytsia Oblast by ~20 Kh-101s and ~4 Zircons.

- The Zmiivska Thermal Power Plant in Kharkiv Oblast by ~5 Iskander-Ms.

- The TEC-5 Thermal Power Plant in Kharkiv City by ~4 Iskander-Ms (and ~6 KAB glide-bombs).

- The Kryvyi Rih Thermal Power Plant in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast by ~4 Kh-101s and ~2 Kn-23s.

- The Kaniv Hydroelectric Power Plant in Cherkasy Oblast by ~2 Iskander-Ms.

- An unknown target near Pryluky, Chernihiv Oblast, by ~2 Oniks-Ms.

As of the time of writing, it appears that Ukrainian air defence was able to shoot down a *minimum* of 29 Kh-101 cruise missiles.

Ukraine's interception rate was much lower than usual for this attack. Only around 29 out of ~70 Kh-101 cruise missiles launched were shot down.

In my opinion, this was due to a combination of poor weather conditions, a complete overwhelming of air defences due to the sheer number of missiles used all at once, an exhaustion of air defences from the ~2,000 Geran-2/4/5 drones used over the 72 hours prior, and a lack of interceptor missiles. The vast majority of the interceptions were carried out by F-16 and Mirage-2000 fighter jets.

โ—๏ธRussia likely intends to carry out another large-scale, combined missile and drone attack on Ukrainian energy infrastructure in the next 72 hours, this time targeting Kyiv:

During tonight's massive Russian combined missile attack on Ukrainian energy infrastructure, only 2 Iskander-M ballistic missiles were launched from Bryansk.

Prior to this attack, it was known that Russia had accumulate approximately 25-30 Iskander-M and RM-48U modified S-400 ballistic missiles in Bryansk Oblast alone. Kyiv itself was also not targeted by a single missile.

Therefore, for the next 3 days, there is a high risk of a large-scale ballistic missile and Zircon/Oniks-M attack being carried out on energy infrastructure in Kyiv City and Kyiv Oblast. The highest threat for the next two nights after tonight. Potential targets include the CHP-4/5/6 Combined Heat and Power Plants, the "Kyivska" 750 kV electrical substation, the Kyiv Hydroelectrical Power Plant, and the Trypillya Thermal Power Plant.

.@hey_itsmyturn, citing a source in one of the foreign ministries, reports that Iran has not changed its stance on the nuclear issue or the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran reportedly continues to demand that sanctions must be lifted and frozen assets handed over before real talks begin.

For the second month in a row and the third month in 2026, Russia has made negative net advances in Ukraine. This follows an ongoing trend of decreasing advancing since January 2026, which can be seen on this chart below.

While Russian advances across the frontline slow to a crawl, the same cannot be said for their mid-to-long-range strikes, which have reach around 10:1 in favour of Russia when excluding attacks on logistics. This, alongside their frontline firepower advantage, remains Russia's primary components of attrition against Ukraine.

2026 has not been a successful year for Russia on the frontline, especially compared to the large advances of 2024 and 2025. It remains to be seen whether 2027 will be any different.

DTEK announced that three of their power plants targeted in Russia's massive overnight combined missile and drone attack on Ukraine have ceased electricity generation after suffering "extensive damage".

These are the Prydniprovsky, Kryvyi Rih, and Ladyzhyn Thermal Power Plants in Dnipropetrovsk and Vinnytsia Oblasts. The TEC-5 and Zmiivska TPPs in Kharkiv Oblast which were also hit are not owned by DTEK, so their status is currently unknown.
