Claims circulating stating that the U.S. has stopped providing intelligence data to Ukraine about Russian ballistic missile threats are completely false, and originated from hype channels on Telegram alluding to this possibility. It also stems from a fundamental misunderstanding of how this process works.

Western satellites detect Russian ballistic missile launcher activity and subsequently transmit that data to the Ukrainian GUR, which triggers air raid alerts in all regions within range of the launch site. This method is not perfect, and this is not the first time western satellites have failed to pick up ballistic missile activity. For example, on October 2, an Iskander-M ballistic missile launched from Taganrog, Rostov Oblast, impacted Mykolaiv City. Its launch was not detected by western satellites. Similar instances have occurred in other regions in the past.

The first missiles not being detected were due to them being of the RM-48U modified S-400 type. It is not known why Ukrainian radars are sometimes unable to detect these missiles either until they are falling or after they impact, but this is something that has happened multiple times in the past. Ukraine has their own radars capable of covering their entire airspace, and they do not rely on any western radars or AWACS to detect Russian aerial targets.

Furthermore, American intelligence informed the Ukrainian GUR of the threat of a Russian ballistic missile attack on Kyiv potentially occurring three days ago. The threat window was for 72 hours, and tonight was the last night. It's likely that this will be extended further due to the low number of missiles (6) used tonight.

Claims circulating that Dobropillya has been captured by Russian forces are false. There will likely be a large information campaign by Russia in the coming days and weeks to exaggerate their progress in the city, and we may even see the Russian Ministry of Defence claim the capture of the city soon.

Currently, there is only a grey-zone in the southern suburbs, where Russian forces are attempting to gain a foothold, and a larger infiltration zone in the east and northeast, where sporadic Russian infiltrations continue to be detected.

I advise you all to be very cautious when viewing information about this sector, as there is a lot of disinformation coming out from both sides. Deepstate is obviously not showing the true situation either, and claims the nearest Russian-controlled territory is still 5.3 km away.

If flag raising videos come soon, please remember that a geolocation of a soldier somewhere does not prove control, let alone consolidation, over that area, but just that a soldier was present there at a given time (assuming its not AI-generated). Russian soldiers have been present in Dobropillya city in small numbers since the beginning of July. Russia's tactic is to send in small infiltration groups of 2s and 3s, resupply them with drones, and have them hop between positions to avoid being detected by Ukrainian drones and soldiers, before sending in reinforcments to accumulate and attack the city from within. The same tactic was used in Pokrovsk and Kostyantynivka.

As of now, I estimate that there are no more than 2-dozen Russian soldiers present in the city, mostly in the southern streets. A few hundred Ukrainian soldiers are likely also present within the city.

New satellite imagery posted by @avivector shows a Russian Tu-160M strategic bomber being equipped with up to 10 Kh-101 cruise missiles at Engels-2 Airbase.

This aircraft was subsequently redeployed to Ukrainka Airbase in the Far East, and will take part in the next large-scale, combined missile and drone attack on Ukraine involving strategic aviation, which will likely occur towards the end of October.
