🏛 Bringing Cambodia's Cultural Heritage Back Home 🌏✨
AUPP students had the unique opportunity to learn from Bradley Gordon, the American lawyer whose work has been instrumental in helping the U.S. Department of Justice and the Royal Government of Cambodia repatriate hundreds of ancient Khmer artifacts to their rightful home.
As part of Professor Joshua Wilwohl's Arts & Culture course, Gordon shared insights into the legal, cultural, and international efforts behind the return of Cambodia's stolen heritage. Students explored the importance of cultural preservation, international cooperation, and the role of law in protecting history for future generations.
Experiences like these reflect AUPP's commitment to connecting classroom learning with real-world expertise and inspiring students to engage with issues that shape Cambodia and the world.

The American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP) is honored to join the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony with the Office of the Council of Ministers for the establishment of the Cambodia Research Network (CRN).
This milestone brings together 31 leading research institutions and universities across Cambodia to strengthen collaboration, promote evidence-based research, and enhance the connection between academic knowledge and national development priorities.
Through CRN, AUPP and partner institutions will contribute to advancing research, knowledge sharing, and innovation while supporting informed policymaking and sustainable development for Cambodia’s future.
At AUPP, we are committed to fostering research excellence, building impactful partnerships, and empowering the next generation of researchers, leaders, and changemakers. 🌏✨

🎓 Alumni Spotlight: Sophaneth Usphea
Meet Sophaneth Usphea, an AUPP Civil Engineering graduate whose journey reflects academic excellence, perseverance, and a commitment to advancing Cambodia’s engineering sector.
A graduate of the AUPP–University of Arizona Dual Degree Program in Civil Engineering, Sophaneth continued his academic journey through the prestigious Chevening Scholarship to pursue a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering at the University of Leeds, where he graduated with Distinction.
Today, Sophaneth works as a Structural Engineering Supervisor, applying international engineering knowledge to real-world projects while continuing to contribute to the profession through industry practice and research in structural and fire engineering.
