Meet Yeong Vechakasy Sothon, an AUPP student pursuing a dual degree in Computer Science and Information Technology Management through a fully funded scholarship from the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MPTC). Passionate about technology, entrepreneurship, and leadership, Sothon aims to create innovative solutions to real-world challenges in Cambodia.
During his time at AUPP, Sothon developed Bondus, an AI-powered personalized learning application that earned second place at UniPreneur. He also won NAVA-Thon Season III with his team’s NHAM Mobile App, a child-health-focused HealthTech solution, and secured third place in CRO Future Engineering.

🤝 AUPP and Smart Axiata Sign MoU to Advance Digital Innovation and Talent Development
The American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP), represented by Dr. Matthew Schenk, President, and Smart Axiata Co., Ltd., represented by Mr. Ritesh Kumar Singh, Chief Executive Officer, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration between higher education and Cambodia’s digital industry.
One of the key initiatives under this partnership is the "Smart @ AUPP Innovation Hub", which will bring academia and industry closer together by creating a space for digital innovation, research, and collaboration between students and industry professionals.
Scholarships will also be awarded to several students each academic year, providing greater access to educational opportunities and supporting the development of Cambodia’s next generation of digital talent.
