Large Deals to Support Sales Growth at Tata Consultancy: Preview
Tata Consultancy is set to report higher revenues for the three months through December from a year ago, helped by large contracts even as the information technology sector remains hurt by slower spending by clients.
- The company, along with its large-sized peers such as Infosys and Accenture, is witnessing top clients from financial and technology, media & telecommunication sectors going slow on their software-service related contracts.
- While Tata Consultancy’s earnings performance is expected to show improvement for the quarter, the pace of growth may ease, a trend witnessed by most of its peers.
- For the fiscal third quarter, the company’s revenue is expected to rise 3.2% from a year ago to 601 billion rupees ($7.2 billion). That will be slowest pace of growth in more than three years. TCS’ profit will grow more than 6% y/y to 115 billion rupees, according to estimates compiled by Bloomberg.
- Tata Consultancy will report December quarter earnings on Thursday after close of trading hours, when its key rival Infosys is also expected to release its numbers.
