US stocks continued to trade lower on Friday after investors' fears on FED rate action resurfaced and Russia's Gazprom decided to suspend supply to Europe till further notice. Stocks rallied post jobs data that showed in-line print but the rally faded as the 'Goldilocks' feeling did not last. Both Dow and S&P lost 1.07% a piece and Nasdaq closed 1.31% lower.

USD index traded flat near 109.63, 10 year retreated to trade below 3.20% and Cboe Vix fell to close below 25.50.

Crude futures traded steady after dramatic sell-off of past few days, Brent traded near 93, WTI near 87.

Indian markets continued to struggle for direction ahead of crucial US jobs data. Global market weakness added some more uncertainty. Indices closed near flat zone as gains from Cap Goods and BFSI names got offset by weakness in IT, Auto and heavyweights like RIL.

Stocks may continue to struggle for direction as mixed news on economic front and uncertainty over quantum of FED rate action keeps markets volatile. Participants may remain watchful and use rotational moves for near term trade and investors may keep some powder dry for some sudden shocks for long term investments.

*RBI to Conduct Auction of SDLS BONDS for INR 59 Billion*

US markets were closed on Monday to honour Labour day holiday. European markets had a mixed closed on Monday, FTSE closed just above the flat line but both CAC and DAX had a cut ranging from 1% to 2% as Russia stopped gas flows.

USD index moved a bit lower near 109.65 from an intraday high near 110.

Crude futures jumped almost 2+% after OPEC+ agreed on a token supply cut from October. WTI moved above 89 and Brent above 95.

Indian stocks moved higher on Monday reversing two days of losses. Sensex added close to 450 points and Nifty reclaimed 17650. BFSI, Metals and RIL lead the indices to gain close to 0.75%, FMCG and Auto names remained a bit subdued, underperforming the broader indices.

*Early leads from Asian markets and US futures indicate a positive start for global stocks. Indian stocks that have been outperforming global indices since last few sessions may continue to offer some good trading opportunities for participants. The current rotational bias in stocks and strength in Mid and Small cap names help participants to make some quick profits in near term. Also it ensures the stability in indices as stocks /sectors take a breather and avoid being tagged as technically overbought / oversold and offer continuous opportunities. Investors may watch out for entry points at market weakness to build long term portfolios.*

US markets traded lower post labour day holiday as strong services activity raised fears of aggressive FED action later this month. Dow fell 0.55%, S&P lost 0.41% and Nasdaq closed 0.74% lower.

USD index surged to fresh mulitiyear highs above 110.35, 10 year also jumped sharply to trade near 3.35% and Cboe Vix closed higher near 26.90.

Crude futures retreated on worries over fresh lockdowns in China, WTI fell near 86, Brent below 93.

Indian markets traded range bound reversing course, IT names saw fresh round of selling dropping to one week lows offset by gains in heavyweights like RIL. Indices closed marginally in red after trading in and out of flat zone throughout the day.

Global equity sentiments along with sharp rally in USD index and 10 year may put some breaks on Indian markets outperformance. Participants may continue to remain watchful for further developments on each of the stated variables and may buy protection as the current rotational phase may end if the indicated variables gain further momentum. For investors, any major give backs may offer good opportunity to add weight to long term portfolio.
