US stocks ended mixed as 10 year jumped on red hot retail sales data. All the three majors started the day with deep cuts as strong retail sales added to the worries over rate hikes but stocks recovered lost ground towards the end of trade. Dow and S&P managed to close just near / above the flat line but Nasdaq saw a cut of 0.25%.

USD index traded lower near 106.20, 10 year rallied to two week highs near 4.83%, cboe vix closed up near 17.88.

Crude futures traded little changed as fears of demand destruction overshadowed the Middle East crisis, WTI traded near 86.60, Brent near 91.

Indian markets snapped three days of losses as investors turned their focus on ongoing results season. Sensex rose 262 points and Nifty topped 19800 on broad based buying across sectors.

Mixed global equity sentiments and progress of Q2 results season may dominate today's trade at Dalal Street. Worries over rising yields and crude prices may limit indices' rise but better Q2 show from Indian corporates (other than IT heavyweights) and strong local macros may help provide support to stocks at every pullback. Participants may continue to look at opportunities outside indices till global headwinds settle as individual stocks provide enough opportunities to stay in the game and outperform in the near term.

Breakouts

โ€œThe breaking of a longer-term consolidation (stage one accumulation or stage three distribution) attracts players from multiple timeframes (both shorter term traders and longer-term investors) who attempt to establish new positions near the beginning of a fresh trend. The breaks of consolidation levels from longer-term timeframes tend to lead to sharp and sustained movement due to competition from different timeframe participants for liquidity.

When trend begins to develop on a longer-term (monthly or weekly) timeframe, view it as a signal that there will be numerous trading opportunities in coming weeks, months and even years. Once underway, the fresh trend will create alignment trade opportunities after short-term pullbacks. Entries after these pullbacks typically offer a low-risk way to participate in established trends. The larger the volume on a break of longer consolidation levels, the greater the odds of a new trend being able to sustain the move. Fundamental developments that accompany a break higher or lower also increase the odds of continued directional movement as more participants are attracted to the action.โ€

an extract from โ€œTA using multiple timeframesโ€

by Brian Shannon

We have tested every system under the sun and amazingly, we have found one that actually works well. It is a very good system, but for obvious reasons, I canโ€™t tell you much more about it. The basic premise of the system is that market move sharply, when they move. If there is a sudden range expansion in a market that has been trading narrowly, human nature is to try to fade that price move. When you get a range expansion, the market is sending you a very loud, clear signal that the market is getting ready to move in the direction of that expansion.โ€

US markets closed lower after Alphabet results disappointed the street and 10 year rallied back near 5.00%. Dow fell 0.32%, S&P fell 1.43% to close below 4200 for the first time since May and Nasdaq fell 2.43%, registering its worst day since February 21.

USD index traded higher near 106.56, 10 year jumped back towards 4.96% and cboe vix closed near 20.19.

Crude prices reversed from opening losses as worries over Middle East crisis overshadowed gloomy economic outlook and US inventory count. WTI moved above 85, Brent above 90.

Indian stocks traded lower over continued worries on the Middle East crisis and rising yields in the US. Sensex lost 523 points, Nifty closed below 19150 as the markets failed to hold onto opening gains. Banking names along with IT stocks took indices lower as selling pressure intensified on the penultimate day before October expiry.

Global equity sentiments and rising yields may once again put some pressure on markets at open and October series expiry may add to stock specific volatility for the day. As indicated yesterday, participants may start building some positions at every decline (only manageable exposure) for a probable year-end rally starting the November series. For investors, the current fall in stock prices provides an excellent opportunity to rebalance portfolios towards winners of the next bull run.

Interesting story of Fevicol Man Of India

Peon to Multimillionaire!!

Meet the man who built Fevicol into a 12,000 CR business.

1. Balwant Parekh studied law but never wanted to practice it. However, living in Mumbai without a job was getting tough for him.

2. So, Balwant started working in a paper dyeing factory and then as a peon in a wood trader's office. Since he did not have a home, he used to sleep in a factory warehouse with his wife. Balwant had nothing but a big dream - He wanted to do business. ๐Ÿ™Œ

3. He started importing the product he knew the best - paper dyes from Western nations. Unfortunately, the business could not survive without money. Balwant was jobless once again.

4. Later, Balwant joined a German chemicals company - Fedco. But Fedco went out of business. Balwant was not going down again. He started Parekh Dychem Lite Industries( PD)Lite with his brother to sell chemical speciality products in India.

5. When P.D. Lite was looking for its first product, Balwant saw it like a hawk. Being a wood carpenter, he knew the adhesive used was not very strong. Moreover, it used Animal parts.

6. Balwant saw the massive gap and introduced the first "Vegetarian glue" into India, made 100% with synthetic resins. He decided to merge the name of his previous company - Fedco and Col, meaning Glue in German. Fevicol was born in 1959. ๐Ÿš€

7. 80% of glue users were Carpenters. So, he directly approached and created a community called "Fevicol Champions Club". The community not only educated carpenters about the product but also created a network where they could learn, grow, and support each other.

8. With carpenters, Fevicol ate the market entirely. Within 20 years, Fevicol had taken up an unbelievable 70% market share. It served 1 of every 2nd carpenter in the country. ๐Ÿคฏ

9. By 1993, PD Lite went to IPO on the Bombay Stock Exchange. Everything was going well, but Balwant was not happy. ๐Ÿค”

10. He wanted Fevicol to be not just a tool for carpenters but for the masses. Fevicol launched the โ€œDum lagake haishaโ€ ad in 1989, followed by the likes of โ€œFevicol ka mazboot jo hai, tootega nahiโ€. Fevicol became a monopoly with a staggering 90% market share. ๐Ÿคฏ

11. To add to the flavour, Balwant even changed the Fevicol logo to two elephants joined by the unbreakable bond of Fevicol. Fevicol started coming in 30 gm tubes for customers and became a National symbol for unity and strength. โœ…

12. By 2006, Fevicol was in 71 countries. Balwant also launched successful brands like M-Seal and Dr Fixit. As a result, Balwant's P.D Lite Industries became a 2000 CR + group.

โžก๏ธToday, Pidilite is a 12,000 CR + company. Starting as a peon, Balwant came 45th on Forbes Asia's Richest Indians.

Balwant is no more. But he will always be remembered as " The Fevciol Man of India." ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ

Current situation:

1. Stocks are up like we're in a bull market

2. Gold is up like we're heading into a recession

3. Oil prices are up like the recession got cancelled

4. Bonds are up like inflation is back below 2%

5. Home prices are up like inflation is still at 10%

Everything is up for the right\wrong reasons ?

GS || PLI Tracker: Latest progress update shows delays and shortfalls

As a push for the โ€œ#MakeinIndiaโ€ (#MII) initiative, the Government of #India proposed Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes for 14 sectors during FY21, at a proposed incentive outlay of $33bn (or Rs2,640bn) over the next 5-6 years (equivalent to 1.4% ofFY22 government expenditure).

The government estimates that this boost to capex around the country under the PLI program has the potential to create ~1.5mn direct and~5mn indirect jobs โ€” implying ~6% incremental manufacturing jobs and 1.2% incremental jobs in the entire economy.

We conducted a deep-dive analysis on each #PLI in a series of 3 reports earlier this year where we concluded that if fully implemented, PLI schemesโ€™ direct impact on the trade deficit (~6% lower), incremental revenue (US$455bn), incremental capex (US$58bn, 21% of #BSE500 private #capex), and annual credit (US$23bn, 6% higher industrial credit) could be meaningful โ€” with upside from โ€˜second orderโ€™ impact from component ecosystem capex, infrastructure build, and higher employment.

Above are the latest updates of the PLI scheme and โ€˜Make in Indiaโ€™ initiative.
