At CES 2020, Samsung is showcasing SelfieType, and although it's only a demo at the moment, it's still captivating. SelfieType uses AI and your phone's camera to track your hands as they type on an invisible keyboard right in front of you.
SelfieType has been developed under Samsung’s C-Lab program, where it houses its experimental programs. This isn't the first "invisible keyboard" we've seen showcased at CES, with many that currently exist using laser projection, but they've often been slow and inaccurate. We'll know more once the keyboard hits the show floor. Would you ever want to ditch your physical keyboard for an invisible alternative?

Can a robot be your personal assistant and lifetime companion? At CES, Samsung unveiled Ballie, a rolling robot assistant designed to manage your home, keep an eye on your pets and be your friend.
In an onstage demo, Ballie followed Samsung consumer electronics division CEO H.S. Kim on the stage by rolling around and at one point jumped into the CEO's arms. For now, rolling around and following people seems to be all that Ballie can do. But in a promotional video released by Samsung after the demo, Ballie opened the blinds in its owner’s home, turned on the TV so that the house’s dog could have something to watch, and summoned a Roomba-like vacuum to help clean up a mess.
Samsung didn’t share any information about when Ballie might come out or how much it might cost when it’s available. But Kim said that Ballie and Samsung's other efforts in AI will also incorporate "stringent data protection and privacy standards." What would your friendship look like with Ballie?
