GOLD reaching 2900, as expected. And we’re now extended the target to 3000
Position in the macro direction.

And let the market work for you.

That’s swing trading when done right

Why are we extending the target?

Basically, London is getting into a shortage of GOLD, why?

LOTS of demand from everywhere because of Trump’s geopolitical risks (sanctions, tariffs, you name it)

And the shortage fuels even more FOMO to get a chunk of it as soon as possible.

It’s a macro bull run, a big one.

In the video above you can see the Bank of England addressing the situation (and acknowledging the large demand) in their press conference from February 6
We are long the S&P500.

First…

Tariff risks greatly reduced after Trump’s announcement yesterday (recirprical tariffs to only go into effect in April, which gives plenty of time to negotiate a deal)

Second…

The CPI and PPI components that feed into core PCE (the FED’s favorite inflation metric) were all soft and now core PCE forecasts have been revised to as low as 2.5% yearly reading.

And third…

Technical break of the corrective structure yesterday.

And we’re now extended the target to 3000
Meanwhile GOLD getting comfortable above 2950, reaching for 3000
Goldmans new target on GOLD, 3100.

For context, I’ve put together a chart with noted all their target upgrades over the past 12 months or so.

Have a great weekend everybody

Slow but going
Why the sharp sell off in the S&P500 yesterday?

High inflation expectations, soft growth…

Leads to stagflation fears.

A bit overexaggerated tho.

We are still long and expecting this move to fade next week.

But will stop out if the stop loss is hit (obviously)
There’s a BIG macro shift happening behind the scenes guys.

I’ve written about it in more detail on our Substack, here:

The story is clear
Should we short EURUSD on Trump's tariff threat to the EU?

Nah, he's a bit all over the place (see his comments from Friday on the chart above)

So we are NOT reading much into this latest tariff threat

But nonetheless, ready to take action if necessary
We are long USDCAD

Very simply, Trump refreshed (about 40 minutes ago) once again the tariff threat on Canada

At this point it doesn’t matter whether he’s telling the truth or not

What matters is that the risk is imminent and the uncertainty real

And so the CAD needs to price that in advance

Target 1.47

We have stop loss slightly below breakeven already on the USDCAD long.

In hindsight should have shorted AUDUSD or NZDUSD as the China tariff are more likely to end up going through than the Canada ones.

But either way, next week will be lively with the March 4 deadline (for Canada) anyway.

Have a great weekend everybody

And tariffs on Canada it is.

Now what?

Now for as long as these 25% tariffs stay in place USDCAD will keep on trending higher towards 1.48, but…

As soon as we see Trump walking back (delaying the tariffs, removing them, or starting a negotiation process) we short it back down to 1.41.

In other words…

Be flexible here, today is tariffs, tomorrow it might be the opposite.

That’s how it is with Trump

We are long AUDUSD.

Rumors have it that tariffs on Canada and Mexico will be delayed (or reduced) today.

So we pivoted into risk on positions.
