We are now updating the source code of the coin, adding an even higher standard in security for our users. The new code will not have any impact on how the coins are purchased, used or stored. The Bitcoin Vault (BTCV) you own will not be affected in any way.

We are also happy to announce that we joined the Decentralized Digital Mining Standard (DDMS) of the World Digital Mining Organization (WDMO).

The aim of DDMS is to:
● create geopolitical balance by fair distribution of mining power across different geographies,
● sustain mining profitability at the appropriate level,
● protect cryptocurrencies from those with enough mining power who hope to conduct a 51% attack.

With implementation of DDMS it will be next to impossible for malicious developers to hack the blockchain and/or cause problems for the Bitcoin Vault (BTCV) environment.

Bitcoin Vault (BTCV) will perform a software upgrade in order to implement the features required by Decentralized Digital Mining Standard (DDMS).

The upgrades are now scheduled to take place on 28.04.2020 at 12:00 UTC, and are estimated to last up to 10 hours, from 12:00 – 22:00 UTC. During this time there will be a suspension of withdrawals and deposits of Bitcoin Vault (BTCV) from Coineal and Liquid cryptocurrency exchanges.

If access to your Bitcoin Vault (BTCV) is needed during the time of the updates, please feel free to withdraw your Bitcoin Vault (BTCV) from exchanges before 12:00 UTC on 28.04.2020.

During this time, there may be brief complications with mining as there will be updates associated with the implementation of Decentralized Digital Mining Standard (DDMS).

We will notify the community when the upgrades have been completed.

Due to the implementation of the first version of DDMS protocol, Bitcoin Vault will undergo a hard fork at block number 29,430. Everyone running the Bitcoin Vault core client should update the source code and rebuild the binaries to stay compatible with the network.

The latest code can be found at: https://github.com/bitcoinvault/bitcoinvault/tree/master.

No action is needed from Electrum Vault and GoldWallet users.

Upgrade has been completed as scheduled. Coineal and Liquid deposits and withdrawals are live. You can now safely transfer funds on these two exchanges.
