Ans. This depends on your CTC breakup and can vary person to person role to role. But for rough idea devide your CTC by 16.

Eg, Let say your salary is 16 Lakhs so Inhand would be 16/16=12= 1 Lakhs per month

Qs from Partha : Dark side of sip and placement

Ans: Other than Top 5-8 Bscools. Every other bschool is struggling in placing students. About 30% of the batch donot get good SIP and about 10-20% of them go at 0 stipend. Final placement are a lot luck game. Right now 20- 30% of the batch is unplaced in almost all Bschools (Other than top 10). Forced sign out is happening

Ps : This is the situation of last 2 years due to poor market situation

Qs from Rishika: Does tier 2 colleges also offer exchange programs. How difficult is it to be a part of them?

Ans. Yes, tier 2 B-schools also have exchange programs and some are good.

It’s not that difficult to be a part of it because they aren’t a lot of people who want to spend extra money (over what you have paid as fees) for a foreign exposure.

There is a minimum GPA requirement set as a qualifying criteria, which is not very high.

You shouldn’t have faced any disciplinary action in the B-school.

Qs from Shephali: Having a Gap of 2 years will have what kind of impact. How will it affect my shortlisting for placements? How will it impact my interviews?

Ans. Some companies have a preference for not having any Gaps but these are very few in number. Only these few will have that as a shortlisting criteria.

Rest (during interviews) will focus on understand why did you take a gap, especially during your undergrad.

Qs from Nikita: Is this the right time to do an MBA given the market conditions.

Ans. Right time or not, I can tell you about the market conditions. Last year was bad given the economic slowdown and likelihood of recession in western countries. An year before that was also bad due to Ukrainian crisis and fuel disruptions. 2 years before that the industry (except IT) was still recovering from COVID pandemic.

Currently, due to US foreign policy and continued sluggish growth in Western economicies we have a difficult market condition. Although we have strong domestic consumption and it's been (growth) doing decent.

Now basis that you can decide for yourself.

Ans. It will slightly affect your chances, some companies have a filter for that (only a handful) but in all other interviews they would ask you "WHY"?
Frame answer around: Challenge you faced, how you dealth with it, what you learnt from this experience. Mention any additional things you did or pursued.
