Score Vs Percentile

You might not read this message completely, but if you read, I bet you have lots of patience, and you can do anything 💪.

Very few days left for the CAT, and like everyone, you too are facing lots of stress and thinking about the exam and syllabus... If you're facing the same, then this message is for you. Go ahead and read it completely; it takes you 2-3 minutes, but it'll help you for sure.

📃 The flow of message:
1) Do's and Don'ts
2) How to manage/ reduce stress?
3) Important QnA

---------------
✅ Do's and Don'ts:

1) Prioritize revision; it is a must at this stage. Focus on revising all the concepts and basics.
2) Don't take mocks in these days, although you can take a couple of mocks to build your seating habit.
3) Practice through PYQs at least from 2017-2023.

---------------
💀 I'm tense!!
How to manage/reduce stress?

While a little bit of stress is good because it brings out the best performance. But more stress brings down your actual strengths.

👉 Here are some tips to reduce stress:

 1) Do pranayama and meditation or deep breathing exercises. (My preference)

2) Engage in any form of activity like yoga, cooking, gardening, etc. It will reduce your stress. Also, your health is more important than anything.

3) Get away from your study table, take a walk, or go alone and spend time in nature for a little while to relax your mind.

4) Spend time with your family and friends; talk to your loved ones; this will also help you to feel happy and reduce your unnecessary stress.

---------------
🙌 Alright!!
Now it's time to answer some important questions asked by students in each and every group.

Q1) I haven't scored well in mocks; how will it impact my exam?

A: No college gives you admission through mock scores; I have seen lots of students not scoring well in mocks but scoring very well in actual exams, so it's all about how you're performing in D-Day.

Q2) I have prepared only arithmetic or algebra, etc. Is/Are enough to score 90%ile+?

A: Yes, if you have prepared well, you can easily clear the sectional cutoff. Although you can score 90+, you may have to solve difficult questions from those topics too.

PS: When it comes to QA, even if you have not prepared anything, you can still solve 4-5 questions just by using your brain.

Q3) VARC/DILR/QA is/are my weak section. What should I do to clear the sectional cutoff?

A: Abb kya hi kar skte ho dost🥲... Chill kro!! Give your best on D-Day; try to clear the sectional cutoff. I wish you the best 🤞.

📃 1000 times asked questions in all groups!!

✅ Which college application forms will not reopen?
A: SPJIMR, MDI, IIFT, and FMS. These are the forms that will not reopen; IIFT and FMS may extend the deadline, but chances are very low, so we recommend filling them out by November 22nd.

✅ What about other college application forms? They also have deadlines before the CAT (IMT, BITSoM, GLIM, GIM, etc.).
A: They will reopen the application form after the CAT or extend their deadlines. Most of these colleges have rounds, so no need to worry; you can fill in round 2.

✅ Where will I get updates about all colleges in one place?
A:
You can follow this link for all upcoming college and important updates.

The CAT exam is not just a test; it's a journey of your perseverance, and self-belief. Remember, you've trained your mind for months, and Sunday is your chance to let it shine. Trust your preparation. When doubt creeps in, remind yourself of all the hard work you’ve put in. Be calm, be focused, and let the questions guide you to success.

I have been taking 30 Days VARC challenge and here are my final VARC tips to all the CAT 2024 aspirants:

1. Don’t skim: Read carefully to capture the tone and central idea. Missing the crux can lead to wrong answers in inference-based questions.
2. Prioritize questions: Answer direct questions first (e.g., "What does the author mean by...") before tackling inference-heavy ones.
3. Eliminate options ruthlessly: Wrong options often include extreme statements or ideas not mentioned in the passage.
4. Give time to Verbal ability section as well, don’t over-rely on RCs
5. Avoid options that are too narrow or broad. Stick to the main point the author is making and not the examples.
6. If you are stuck on a question, let go! Save your mental energy for the next one. Remember the negative marking.

"Understand, Eliminate, Move On." Your goal is not to answer everything but to answer strategically. You’ve got this! Best of luck! 🚀

📃 Final Words To All CAT 2024 Aspirants

✅ Don't judge your slot from others; just see the paper pattern (will share after S1). If it's the same, then there's no need to see a detailed review before your attempt. (Exam ke baad kuch bhi kar skte ho, 10 baar dekh lena baadme, bas pehle nhi.)

✅ If you find any section difficult, don't panic; just try to solve easy questions and score to clear the sectional cutoff of that section; rest try to boost the overall score from other sections. (Benchmark score should be 2022 & 2023 cutoffs, most probably iske aaspas hi rahega.)

✅ This is just an aptitude test, so be tension-free; you have to face lots of challenges in life. (Or yeh toh kuch bhi nhi hai uske samne.)

🤔 When is the right time to start GDPI preparation?

Case 1 - You scored well in CAT and are not focusing on OMETs.
Answer: Start as soon as possible.

Case 2 - You did decently in CAT and are giving your best shot at OMETs.
Answer: Start now! Dedicate 2-3 hours a day.

Case 3 - CAT didn’t go well, and only OMETs can save you.
Answer: Focus on OMETs for now, but start preparing HR answers at your own pace.

Ps: Don't wait for official result, you are just wasting your time. Focus on OMETs and start your GDPI preparation. Your %tile will be somewhat similar to the Cracku, CL etc calculator (Expect 1-2% more).
