How to analyse mocks?

Well, It's pretty easy and a lot of fun to take mocks but when it comes to analyzing them, our entire fun ends(only if it is still intact after seeing the scorecard).

So how do we do it?

VARC :- Analysing the VARC section is very tiring. If you want to do it quickly then what you can do is re-read all the passages and try the questions that you failed to get correct. In analysis try to eliminate each option with strong reasoning. Make sure you refer back to the passage whenever the need arises.

Here, Notice the errors that you made in the test. Maan lo If you got some question wrong then was it because of comprehension or you fell for the paper setter's trap? Whatever the reason is, make sure to not the repeat same mistake.

LRDI :- Attempt the sets that you couldn't in the test. Don't rush to see solutions. Try the set for at least 30 minutes, If you still can't figure it out then have a glance at the solution and try it again yourself. If you still aren't able to understand then watch the video solution. While analysing, try approaches , use questions that will help you reduce your overall time.

QA :- Definitely not the right guy to comment. But I still know that much ki you'll have to attempt all questions that you couldn't in the test. And if you still are failing to solve some questions from a particular topic while analysing then YouTube(if not enrolled in coaching) it. Watch some videos related to that topic and then try the same question. Skip the video solutions of easy questions. While analysing try to use options to solve questions if possible. Baaki toh you're way better than me in this section.

Some additional tips

Don't wait too long to analyze : It's best to analyze your mocks within a day or two of taking them. This will help you remember your thought process and identify your mistakes more easily. Would suggest you to attempt it on the last day.

Be honest with yourself: Don't make excuses for your mistakes. Instead, focus on understanding why you made them and how you can improve.

Don't overdo stuff :- If people don't score well in one or two mocks, they tend to overthink and overdo stuff. It is not required at this point of time. What worked for you in the past, will work for you in the future. You still have plenty of days to fine-tune your strategy. Just be patient and a bit calm.

Use your mock analysis to improve your study plan :- Once you've identified your strengths and weaknesses, you can adjust your study plan accordingly. For example, if you're struggling with a particular topic, you can spend more time studying it.

Don't be discouraged if you don't score well in mocks :- Mocks aren't the reflection of your skills. Also they will not help you in taking admission in any college. These are nothing more than preparatory tools for CAT. You just learn from them and move on. You don't take mocks' scores seriously. You just learn and then move on and try to do better in next mock. It is a very simple process..

Not making it any longer, ending it with Dhoni's Quote "The process is more important than the result, the result is just a by-product of the process. But in today’s world, we are so focused on the byproduct that we get away from the process. So take care of the process, all the small things and eventually you will get the desired result."
