LRDI preparation strategy

Lrdi is the most amazing section in the CAT exam. It is a section I love the most. A section which actually tests your mind and logical thinking ability. It is a section which is new for everyone. Initially, some students might struggle a lot with this section. But, with continuous practice, you can ace this section.

There is no shortcut for lrdi, the only success path in this section is practice and trying to solve the sets as quickly as possible. For this, you should be familiar with a lot of variety of sets, and that comes when you practice. To be honest, I didn’t whole heartedly prepare anything from scratch, as this is a section where you can experiment and can build your own strategies. So generally, I would like to solve a set based on my own strategies and I will invest a good amount of time in actually understanding the set. The most important thing here is to read each and every statement, as there is always a step that you can take forward from each statement. Look at all the cases and don’t skip on any line. Further, I used to solve sudoku daily in order to, exercise your brain and everyday I try to solve the Sudoku faster than the previous day.

Also, solve multiple sets to be familiar with lrdi. The more you practice, the better you’ll perform.

CAT Reading Comprehension Question Types

1️⃣ Main Idea Based Questions:
You have to identify the main theme or idea of the passage.

1) what is the central idea of the passage?
2) what is the main purpose of the given passage
3) which of the following options properly implies the gist of the passage?

2️⃣ Title Based Questions
You have to identify the approach title from the answer choices.

1) which of the following is the most suitable title for the passage?
2) The most apt title for the passage is?
3) The title of the passage can be perfectly represented by?

3️⃣ Inference Based Questions
Tricky questions & require to understand the passage carefully to answer them.

1) what can be inferred from the sentence?
2) what does the sentence imply?
3) it can be inferred from the passage that…?
4) what does the author mean by the line?

4️⃣ Fact Based Questions
You have to identify the correct & incorrect facts from the passage.

1) Acc. to the passage, what is?

5️⃣ Tone Based Questions
identify the tone of the author, the sentiments of the author are given as options.

These questions tests your intuitive & logical sense.

1) The organisation of the passage can be best described as….

7️⃣ Vocabulary Based Questions
Mostly based on synonyms & antonyms.

Ways to improve Language and Vocabulary Skills!!!

Worried about your English Language and want to learn some tips that can help you to improve your Vocabulary as well as the Language skills. Then, do follow the below tips:

7. Practice, Revision and Repeat
The most important things, just practice consistently. Revise regularly of the content and repeat all the steps.
