The Ukrainian European Solidarity party has expelled MP and delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Oleksiy Honcharenko, after he called for peace negotiations with Russia to end the war, citing "ideological differences".
Honcharenko previously stated that Ukraine was losing the war and should accept territorial concessions to preserve Ukrainian statehood. He also advocated for a phased removal of sanctions on Russia, in exchange for Russia halting their strikes on Ukrainian critical infrastructure and a freeze to the fighting on the frontline.
Honcharenko also recently revealed that Russia withdrew from northern Ukraine and Kyiv Oblast due to the Istanbul agreements, contradicting the official Ukrainian narrative that they were forced out by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, sparking significant political debate and criticism.

—❗️🇮🇱/🇬🇧 NEW: Israel announces it is closing the British consulate in Jerusalem, banning 12 British individuals from entering Israel, and suspending British involvement in the U.S.-led Gaza peace mission All of this comes in response to the UK declaring a…
Britain has warned Israel that it could expel 27 Israeli diplomats from the embassy in London if Israel follows through on its decision to close the British consulate in East Jerusalem, where 27 British diplomats work, according to an unsourced Ynet report on Monday.
British Ambassador to Israel Simon Walters has conveyed the message to Israeli officials, the report said, with London threatening to expel one Israeli diplomat for each British diplomat whose work at the consulate is terminated.
The threat would be the latest escalation in badly strained ties between Jerusalem and London. Last month, the United Kingdom announced sweeping measures targeting Israeli settlements in the West Bank, prompting Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar to announce a series of countermeasures, including the closure of the East Jerusalem consulate within 30 days — a deadline set to take effect this Thursday.

The results of the recent parliamentary elections in Sweden are being questioned. Numerous complaints have emerged alleging widespread fraud.
Incidents in the Stockholm district of Järva and in the Norrbotten region in northern Sweden have caused particular concern. In Järva, a candidate from the Left Party, Ilyas Hassan, was at the center of a scandal due to an abnormal surge in votes at his polling stations.
According to journalists from Svenska Dagbladet, pre-filled ballots were handed out to voters at the entrance to polling stations in Järva, with a checkmark next to Hassan's name.
A preliminary investigation has been launched on charges of "improper influence during voting" and "improper receipt of compensation during voting." The Left Party and Hassan himself deny the allegations, calling them "politically motivated."
Right-wing forces accuse the Left Party of practicing "clan voting" in areas with migrant populations and of treating voters as "voting cattle." This is because migrants, when moving to Sweden, continue to live in close-knit communities.
There are suspicions that the Left Party has found a way to win over tribal leaders, who in turn began supplying them with groups of voters in exchange for future benefits – government subsidies, premises, positions, or other privileges.
"There is nothing good for ordinary Swedes – this means that their country is gradually slipping away from them. Now, migrants have become the most important trump card in the electoral competition, and tomorrow they will come to power directly. Tomorrow's Sweden will be completely different," said political scientist Maxim Reva.

After being expelled from the European Solidarity Party, Ukrainian MP and delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Oleksiy Honcharenko has been added to the controversial "Myrotvorets" list.
The Myrotvorets list is a database of individuals considered enemies of Ukraine, who they claim are working against Ukraine's national interests. It has been repeatedly criticised by human rights organisations as violating press freedoms and endangering journalists. Some critics have characterised Myrotvorets as a "kill list", and alleged it is funded by the Ukrainian SBU.
The website described Honcharenko as a "professional provocateur", and accused him of taking actions "in the interests of the Russian-fascist invaders, aimed at disrupting mobilisation events in Ukraine." It explicitly mentioned his recent advocation for peace negotiations and statements that Ukraine is losing the war.
Myrotvorets also listed a number of other "Russian narratives" Honcharenko allegedly spread in the past, including the following:
- Advocating for parents to be allowed to determine for themselves whether their children should study in Russian or Ukrainian in 2011;
- His statements in 2019 that Ukrainian culture is bilingual and that he does not wish for Russian to die out as a language in the future;
- His attempts to grant Russian the status of a second state language and expand its presence in school education in 2011, during his work in the work in the Odessa regional council.

Commission president dismissed Germany’s calls for big savings, arguing that they would undermine EU-wide priorities.
During a speech in the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Tuesday, von der Leyen said that reducing the size of the EU’s common cash pot would undermine critical EU-wide priorities such as competitiveness and energy autonomy.
“I would like to caution against large cuts. It would risk cutting deep into critical priorities that we all together have agreed on,” von der Leyen told MEPs.
The warning comes days before the Irish presidency of the Council of the EU, which is steering the budget talks, is expected to put forward a budget negotiating document with new figures.
Germany and its allies in Northern Europe have pressured Dublin to make cuts worth hundreds of billions of euros across the board.
But 17 EU countries from Southern and Eastern Europe — led by Italy and Romania — are pushing in the opposite direction. They asked to preserve farmers’ subsidies and regional payouts, known as cohesion policy, in a joint letter last week.
To be able to afford all of these and the programs which generated support for the EU inside and outside of the Union such as the EU's agricultural subsidies and cohesion funds, Brussels will need to increase or introduce new taxes which will harm its prospects for regaining competitivity and prove it is the "global power" it claims to be.
The group of fiscal conservative states led by Germany who pay more to Brussels than they receive in return would prefer to cut the budgets made for agriculture and social cohesion from which states in Eastern and Southern Europe benefit the most and those funds being the engine driving up support for EU membership in the Western Balkans and the Caucasus. Without those funds, EU support in Serbia, Bosnia, Kosovo, Albania, North Macedonia, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and Turkey would collapse overnight and anti-EU movements will spring up and gain immense traction across much of Southern, Central and Eastern Europe, countries that have been hollowed out by the industrial economies of Western Europe.
If Germany, The Netherlands, France, Austria and Scandinavia aren't willing to continue spending money on Southern, Central and Eastern Europe, then there's no reason for those countries to stay united.
So which will it be?

127 seats in the National Assembly of Quebec 64 seats needed for a majority
The sovereigntist Parti Québécois won the election, though short of an outright majority.
The second-place Liberal Party doubled its seat total from 2022, mainly through gains in the Montérégie and Laval regions. The Conservative Party will make its first appearance in the National Assembly, winning 19 seats from the Capitale-Nationale and Chaudière-Appalaches regions.
These gains came at the expense of the left-wing Québec Solidaire, which lost support in every region except Montréal. The governing Coalition Avenir Québec will no longer have any representation in the National Assembly. In 2022, the party won roughly 70% of the seats and 41% of the vote.
