🚁 🇺🇸 🏛 The new helipad on the White House South Lawn was christened today as a U.S. Marine Corps VH-92A "Patriot" departed as 'Marine One', marking the first operational use from the site. The helipad has a heated concrete base topped with granite plates, with the presidential seal engraved into the surface. Sikorsky, the VH-92A's manufacturer, funded the roughly $6 million project, a contribution tied in part to damage the aircraft's exhaust and rotor wash had caused to the lawn.
