✓Where are you from ?
-Kanniyakumari in Tamilnadu
✓Have you worked ?
-I hv bn working, right now with an ed-tech company called vision ias
✓What is your role there ?
-Research and Development
✓Have you watched Elephant Whisperers. What did you observe from that ?
-Role of indigenous community in Forest and wildlife conservation
✓ What about Ragu, the orphaned elephant, elaborate on that
-Impact of Human-animal conflict (disapproving look)
-Watched it long back ,so couldn't recollect much.
✓ Do you think the human-animal conflict is due to the clash of modernity vs culture ?
- To a certain extent the fortress conservation model has contributed for the same.
✓ Recent forest amendments have removed the need of consent of Gram Sabha. What is your opinion on it
-Forest communities concerns must be taken into consideration.
✓ But developmental projects are getting delayed because of that
-We must address the people concerns at various levels of implementation for sustainable development.
Member 2:
✓ Why do you want to join the IFS ?
- Orientation towards nature since childhood
- Rising scope of the service owing to increasing dependence of economic prosperity and social security on ecological security
- Potential to create an impact in the lives of marginalised sections such as forest dependent communities and climate change vulnerable ones ,ex: Coastal population
✓ What's your vision in the next 5 years in it ?
- It's premature for me to tell specifically. I have to learn ,But I wish to work on these areas.
✓ Which silvicultural system do you suggest for our country ?
- India has a diverse ecology, therefore based upon the ecological fragility we have to decide on the particular system.
-Right now we follow Selection cum improvement system mostly, where ever the ecology is weak we have to reserve certain sections before going for any clearance. ( Smiles in approval).
✓Which Agroforestry species you recommend?
- Based on the conditions of the region, without promoting the monocultural ways ,ex: poplar in North India is being promoted sustainably unlike Rubber plantations down south
✓Read about a specific species that is promising ( I could neither recognise nor recollect the name).
Member 3( lady):
✓ Follow up on why IFS- what career opportunities you foresee.
- Ranjith Singh case: Expansion of Article 21 against climate change offers scope to bring together various departments into it.
- Change from Anthropocentric to ecocentric approach.
- Requirement of ecological perspective in long term planning.
✓Say it for example Punjab region.
- Climate resilient agriculture must be promoted
✓ What about this particular region( couldn't recollect )in Punjab and connected to bamboo. Can you name the different species of bamboo ?
- Bambusa bamboo, Dendrocalamus strictus, Dendrocalamus hamiltonii in Northeast, Dendrocalamus giganticus etc.
✓ How will you know about the medicinal plants
- Traditional knowledge from the
Forest communities
✓ That is not sufficient
- I have to be aware of the specific species from the current relevance as they are subjected to over - exploitation ex: few himalayan species are threatened with extinction.
Member 4( lady):
✓ Explained the importance of women participation in the last 3 decades, particularly SHGs. What about the challenges
- Societal mindset to let women participate
- Requires sustainable ideas ex: Noorangu SHGs in biodiversity conservation.
- Credit availability
✓ ( Not satisfied) Refused to agree with the above , highlighting the successes of SHGs at the national level.Told to read about it.
Cordiality is a subjective thing,so i choose not to comment on that.

I entered and wished ma’am and Sir respectively. They asked me to sit down. They were sitting very close to me.
Chairwoman :
As You are from communications background so tell me some communication cables were disrupted recently.. As I replied Yes Ma’am.. She asked what are those ?
Underwater Sea Cables for Internet Connectivity were disrupted by Houthi Attacks
Exactly How many cables were disrupted and How many total Cables are there ?
Sorry Maam. I am not aware about the exact no. I will read more About it.
In Red Sea Disruption Many Western countries are conducting operations for Maritime safety.. Tell The Mission Names and Which country launched them ?
Sorry Maam I am not able to recall the exact mission names but US and UK both have launched operations in the area.
Are these operations by US and UK joined by european countries ? If yes then which countries joined and which didn't ?
Maam I am not aware about exact country names and As far As I remember few countries have joined the above operations while few are thinking of launching independent operations.
What is India doing ?
Maam India launched anti-piracy operations and is protecting its maritime interests as well as implementing International Law.
Which Operation was launched by India ?
Sorry Maam I dont know exact name of the operation
You have Badminton as Hobby so tell me can we play Badminton on Moon ?
Maam As Moon have 1/6th gravity of earth the shuttle will go far higher and will take long time to come back so it will difficult to play for these reasons
Can we play Badminton in Space ?
Maam In Space there is no gravity so if we hit a shuttle it will keep floating in that direction infinitely so until we hit back shuttle it will never come back so it is near to impossible to play badminton in space.
Which Shuttle stays in Air for More Time Nylon or Feather ?
I told it depends maam as nylon had different versions like green made for cold environments and red for warm environments but generally feather shuttles stay for more time in air and has better drag compared to Nylon.
Recently there was a SC judgement on Fundamental Rights .. what is it ?
I told maam it was MK Ranjit Singh Case for GiB Protection and laying underground lines for protection in Which SC declared people have FR under Article 21 to be protected against the impacts of Climate Change.
You know about Bitcoin ?... actually cryptocurrency in general.. The prices are decreasing these days again why ?
Maam The last news I read the prices were going up due to Bitcoin Halving where out of 21 million BTC only 2 million BTC are remaining to be Mined and it becomes exponentially difficult to mine next bitcoin so people are feeling that there will be scarcity of BTC…
She asked why they crashed after initial skyrocketing ?
I told maam initially they increased due to people feeling that they will replace legal tender but when major economies didnt declare them as legal tender they crashed.
What is India’s Stand in this ?
Maam Initially RBI Banned but SC lifted the ban on grounds of violations of Article 19(1)(f)- right to profession and proportionality grounds but then Govt. brought a bill to ban cryptocurrencies but I am not aware about the exact status of passing of that bill.
Member 1: (Environment Questions)
You are from ECE Background .. Why do you want to come to IFoS ?
When I was doing graduation.. I had an interaction with DFO(Wildlife),Sariska NP and He told about his innovation for water hole maintenance and Rainwater Harvesting in Sariska NP..

What about reservation ? Shall we abolish it ?
Sir It should definitely not be abolished but it should be better channelised and should be provided in a way that it reaches the most needy.
Shall we provide reservation based on caste or shall we put sole economic criteria ?
Sir as these caste groups were discriminated against as groups historical so there is a logic in providing it based on caste and not solely based on economic criteria but On top of social criteria - economic criteria can be used to filter people who have used the reservation system and make it reach to more needy people.
( I might have forgotten a few questions from last member)

Best wishes for Prelims tomorrow. Comrades remember that the mix/anxious/butterfly feelings of last few days are immaterial in Prelims results. It's about how you spent your past few MONTHS !
Now it's time for the real fight, so keep calm, trust your God and Kismat connection and lastly trust yourself. Ultimately it's prelims, only crossing the cutoff matters. So don't bother much about transient feelings or anxiety at this step.
Baaki rest well, talk with your most favourite person (if you can otherwise just remember them & smile for them !), and awake fresh. Prelims is easy, but the psychological fears and burdens makes it very tough. Deal with these maturely.
Once again Best wishes comrades !
