Dear Parents and Guardians,
Thank you to all of you who attended our recent parent meeting on Friday, 19th September. With over 40 parents present alongside our school leadership team, it was a valuable opportunity to share updates, hear your feedback, and strengthen the partnership between home and school.
School Highlights Shared
• Student Results: We were pleased to report encouraging IGCSE, BTEC, and A-Level outcomes. At the same time, we acknowledged challenges in subjects such as Art, PE, and IT. Addressing these gaps is a clear priority moving forward.
• Fees and Salaries: We reviewed competitor school fee structures and explained that a possible adjustment may be required to ensure we can continue attracting and retaining high-quality teachers.
• Enrolment Growth: With over new 300 students already enrolled, we are on track to reach capacity by next year. Returning student registration will be completed in March–April 2026, after which any remaining seats will be offered to new families.
• English Proficiency: Teachers will undergo IELTS testing, with a development programme to strengthen professional language skills where needed.
• Excellence in Staffing: We remain committed to ensuring the “right person is in the right place” to secure the highest standards of teaching and learning.
Parents’ Feedback and Our Response
We greatly appreciate the openness and honesty of your contributions. Some of the main points raised included:
• Communication: We recognise that newsletters and emails via info@ and admissions@ have not always been timely. Immediate steps are being taken to improve this.
• Facilities: The lack of lockers and the weight of school bags were highlighted. We are reviewing options to address this important wellbeing concern.
• Academic Matters: Concerns were raised about the attainment gap between mock exams and final results, Year 9 English, and the homework burden. All matters our leaders promised to address.
• Parent Engagement: We must introduce a structured Parent Induction Programme for new families and also a Volunteering Policy to enable safe and positive parental involvement in school life.
• Trips & Activities: The annual trip calendar has been approved and we commit to notifying parents at least four months in advance of any overseas trips.
• Resources: Primary does not rely on textbooks, we are working to ensure quality learning materials are consistently available across all phases.
We are proud of how far CAE has come, and with your continued support we are confident we can take the next steps together. Thank you again for your engagement, honesty, and partnership.

Subject: A Historic Victory for Cambridge Academy Ethiopia – Join Us for the Homecoming Parade!
Dear Parents and Families,
We are delighted to share some truly wonderful news that marks a proud moment in the history of Cambridge Academy Ethiopia.
Last week, our U9 and U11 football teams travelled to Dubai to represent our school at the prestigious ISG Dubai Gulf Winter Tournament, an international competition featuring top youth teams from across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
We are thrilled to announce that our U11 team won the international championship trophy—the first in the school’s history.
Both teams represented Cambridge Academy Ethiopia with determination, discipline, and exceptional sportsmanship.
Our U9 players showed tremendous courage, teamwork, and growth throughout the tournament.
Our U11 players made history in a dramatic final that went to a penalty shootout, ending with a decisive save by our goalkeeper Heriyakos and a winning penalty from team captain Kidus.
This achievement is a testament to the talent of our students, the dedication of our coaches, and the belief and support of you—our parents. It also shows that Ethiopian youth can compete confidently and successfully on the global stage.

Dear Staff, Parents, and Students,
Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete our recent school surveys. Your voice matters, and your feedback plays an important role in shaping how Cambridge Academy Ethiopia continues to grow and improve.
I am pleased to share that we have now completed an integrated survey report, bringing together the views of staff, parents, and students. The purpose of this report is to provide a clear, evidence-informed picture of what is working well across our school community and where we should focus our improvement efforts.
There is much to be proud of. Across all groups, strong relationships stand out as a real strength of our school. Staff, students, and parents consistently highlighted the positive culture, the care shown by teachers and leaders, and the sense of belonging within our community. This is a powerful foundation and a reflection of the daily commitment shown by our team and our students.
At the same time, the surveys have helped us identify areas where we can do better. Communication emerged as a shared priority, alongside workload and wellbeing, consistency of routines and expectations, and opportunities for staff, parent, and student voice. We are grateful for this honest feedback, which gives us clear direction for next steps.
Over the coming weeks, the leadership team will be using this report to:
• Strengthen whole-school communication
• Put targeted actions in place to support wellbeing
• Develop clearer and more consistent routines and expectations
• Enhance opportunities for staff, parent, and student voice
This report represents a baseline, not an endpoint. A further round of surveys will be issued in January, allowing us to track progress and compare results over time. We will share updates on actions taken and what we are learning as a result. I would like to encourage everyone to participate and contribute to this process.
Thank you once again for engaging thoughtfully with this process and for your continued support of Cambridge Academy Ethiopia. Together, your feedback helps us build a stronger, more responsive, and more effective school for all.
