🗣️ Cole Palmer on Alonso's three at the back:

"It's been good. We had to get used to it, especially in preseason. Like we didn't really know how to work it and stuff. Because obviously we had Maresco and Liam played similar formations, like three building up with free two and whatever they all do, but this is this is different."

🗣️ Cole Palmer on freedom Alonso has given him:

"Just had a bit more freedom. You can see last night with the goal I scored [against Fulham], last season, I wouldn't even made that run because that's safe in my zone. If you know what I know what I mean.”

“Yeah. What he [Alonso] is saying, 'move across that zone, like drop to play, come down the ball, create, and just do what you do'"

"Now, physically, I feel good. Probably the best I've felt in ages. But if I can get ready more with games and more minutes."

"I think it'll be a good season, exciting. And hopefully we will score a lot of goals."

KICK OFF….

GOALLLLLL- LAVIA!!

GOALLLLLLLL!!

Pedro Neto with the goal

Rogers with the assist.

Palmer, João Pedro and Rogers are given freedom to rotate. That makesit difficult to mark them because they aren’t staying rigidly in their positions.

JP misses a sitter….

Pedro Neto

His finish was excellent because he attacked the space and didn’t overcomplicate it. He got into a dangerous position and finished low into the centre of the goal.

Playing on the right side of @Chealsea’s 3-4-2-1, Neto is giving Brighton another problem to deal with. He’s staying wide when necessary, but he can also move inside. That forces Brighton’s left side to constantly decide whether to follow him or protect the centre.

I’m pretty sure James out some sense into Neto since they’re back and forth last time.

Hope to see more from him!!

GOALLLLL- JP!!
