🗣 John Terry: "I was speaking to Tosin the other day and I was like, “What did the manager say?”

And he was like, “I’m just not in his plans. Listen, fully respect it. I’d love to kind of prove him wrong here, but I’ve been told I’d need to find another club and he’s going, I’m gutted because I’ve only been here a couple of years”.

So he’s obviously disappointed with that, Tosin, but the manager makes it really clear, so honest with the players, there’s no kind of grey area in there at all."

Cole Palmer is up for August’s @League_Premier Goal of the Month award for his strike against Brighton! 👏

🗣 Ian Wright: "He [Rogers] is the one we [@Arsenal_london] were linked with ages ago and he would have loved to have come, I can feel it.

It is the player the manager wanted. Chelsea thought, well if you’re not going to pay it, we’ll pay it. I’m gutted, I would have loved him to come."

“We’ll check tomorrow”

🚨 Alonso: “After a game, you have so many stats. It depends what you look at. Possession tells you something, xG tells you something else. What we want is, we are able to adapt.”

“We will have games where we have lots of possession. To have different tools and different ideas how to do it is good. We are early days. Two games, two wins but we are aware we can do better”

Reece James on the importance of having Welbeck and Henderson in the team:

🗣 "I think it's huge. They offer a different dynamic, an area we've been light in over the last few years.

Delighted they're with us, and I'm sure they'll help a lot."

Are you surprised how well Alonso's @Chealsea have done so quickly?

🗣 Mikel Arteta: "Not surprised, because obviously you see the magnitude and the stature of that football club, the history that they have, the squad that they have, the squad that they built again this summer, and the quality that Xabi has as a manager, and the clear ideas that he's going to install on that team to make him successful."

🚨 Xabi Alonso believes Reece James can have a bigger influence on his team-mates from the middle of the park.
