Lukashenko:

The Americans are now hinting to the Russians: if you don't reach an agreement with Ukraine, things will be even worse next year.

If you make peace with the Ukrainians now, we will lift sanctions and do other things.

But next year, even if you capture all of Ukraine, you will remain under these sanctions.

Prof. Veysel Kurt | Security Specialist | Center for Middle Eastern Studies (ORSAM):

Türkiye is closely monitoring the Israeli arms transfers to Greece. Türkiye has multiple tools at its disposal.

Türkiye can demonstrate to Greece these arms purchases - at enormous economic cost - will not make Greece more secure.

Israel’s expansionist strategy & Greece’s maximalist expectations are converging. That is not a simple arms deal.

Lukashenko on Ukraine:

All wars end in peace anyway. So it is better sooner rather than later. People are dying.

For these humanitarian reasons, peace is needed there, and it will be achieved.

I would like this war to end by next year. And if it ends this year, that would be wonderful.

German Foreign Minister Wadephul on Iran:

Europe is in Iran's crosshairs.

We will not tolerate Iran's hostile activities directed against Jews here in Germany and our open society as a whole.

We will respond here as well.

Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder:

I am convinced that, given the historical conflicts that have existed, it will not be possible — and perhaps it would not even be sensible to try — to make Russia the sole loser.

That will not succeed, and it could lead to conditions within Europe, and Russia must be counted as part of Europe here, that would be bad for everyone.

I would say we should tone down the rhetoric.

If you want negotiations, you cannot start from the assumption that they are useless.

A drone strike sparked a fire at an industrial facility in Russia’s Surgut district, which Ukrainian monitoring channels identified as Gazprom’s Surgut Condensate Stabilization Plant.

The plant can process up to 12 million tonnes of oil and gas condensate a year, producing gasoline, diesel and jet fuel.

It lies about 2,400 km from Ukraine’s border, making this one of the farthest reported strikes on Russian energy infrastructure.

I believe that Republicans traditionally have an easier time taking such a step — achieving a negotiated peace — than Democrats.

Democrats are more ideologically fixated against Russia, and also against China, than Republicans.

Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder on Iraq:

There's an interesting story I experienced. It was about the question of why Iraq.

George W. Bush said to me: "Gerhard, you have to understand, I had a conversation with someone right at the top.

And he said it probably had to be done."

I replied: "I think he told me something different."

We have always said that the first step must be to try to reform the EU, if that is even possible.

But the ultimate option remains a referendum on whether we should leave the EU.

German AfD co-leader Tino Chrupalla on Russia:

We always talk about Russia's hybrid warfare against Germany.

But what kind of hybrid warfare is Germany itself participating in against Russia?

More and more drone factories are being opened in Germany, including a large one recently in Leipzig.

We produce these drones in Germany, we pay for them, we send them to Ukraine, and they are probably even being used with NATO and Bundeswehr support to attack refineries, pipelines and transport infrastructure deep inside Russia.

I think, at its core, everyone understands that our foreign policy, which is what I can speak about, has to be about what is good for America.

I think every country should do that for their own countries.

NATO membership is supposed to mean membership in a defensive alliance.

But NATO, the way it currently operates, is no longer that.

When NATO member states enter wars that violate international law, NATO must take a position.

America First means we're going to always do what's right for America before anything else.

We're going to put it before the UN. We're going to put it before the global commons, or whatever you want to call it, the global order that people worshiped around here for a very long time.

We're not against any of those things. We're just not going to put them ahead of American interests anymore.

That's what the president's doing.

We should not allow countries to be portrayed as enemies: today the enemy is Russia, tomorrow it is China.

Afghanistan was once our enemy, and now the German government is negotiating with the Taliban.

Eventually, you will have to sit down at the table with those you call enemies today.

Why must we buy American LNG and oil because we allowed Nord Stream to be blown up?

Why can't we decide for ourselves to repair Nord Stream?

Our economy needs cheap energy to remain competitive.

We will not let the Americans dictate from whom we buy our energy.
