The president of the United States is under no illusions. It's absolutely clear where I stand, where Canada stands, where Canadians stand. We will never be the 51st state.
We are going our own way. We're preparing, we're strong, and we're getting stronger.

Q: Tรผrkiye has a very well-established defense industry, particularly when it comes to drones. Are we interested in buying military capability or Turkish military technology, or is this more an industrial partnership?
Canada's Carney: Look, the answer is both. But as much as possible, I think I would lean towards the partnership end of the spectrum, where we're providing complementary technology and we're building up together.

Canadian PM Mark Carney:
Tรผrkiye produces approximately 80% of its defense needs domestically.
That is not the case in Canada.
So there are many lessons for us on how we can create an industry at home.

Putin on Europe:
They are constantly talking about the threat from Russia and preparing for war with Russia, which, in my view, is a kind of political schizophrenia.
But I hope this, too, will eventually pass.

If you look at the political processes taking place in Europe, it becomes obvious that the peoples of Europe do not want to fight Russia.
I want us to be heard. We do not want war, and we are not preparing for any kind of war with Europe.

NEW: Saudi Arabia appears to be expanding its ballistic missile factory to build larger solid-fuel missiles, according to researchers who analyzed commercial satellite images, Reuters reports.
Images taken between April 2025 and September 2026 show a new building at the al-Duwadimi complex, about 200 km (125 miles) west of Riyadh, at least twice the size of the existing facility and likely used for casting missile motors.
A second new building may store fuel ingredients or finished components.
Researchers Sam Lair and Michael Duitsman of the Foreign Policy Research Institute said the expansion would let the kingdom produce missiles with longer ranges or heavier payloads, and the facility could start production as early as the end of 2026.

Billionaire Ron Lauder, president of the World Jewish Congress and once one of Benjamin Netanyahuโs closest associates, has broken years of silence to speak out against the Israeli prime minister in an interview with Haaretz.
Lauder says he saw 30 years ago how Netanyahu put his own political future ahead of the countryโs, and is now determined to wake up the Israeli public before it is too late.
He has cut his ties with Israel over the past year, telling Haaretz โI sold my house in Tel Avivโ and saying he gave his Beersheba property to the Jewish National Fund, which he chairs.
Addressing Israelis, he said:
โYour fathers fought for the country, and youโre losing everything because of stupidity.โ

NEW: U.S. Forces Japan will ban all BYD vehicles from Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, citing security risks.
The ban applies with no exceptions to personnelโs private cars, contractor vehicles, taxis and delivery vans, with security forces turning them away at every gate.
Kadena, the largest U.S. Air Force base overseas, hosts the 18th Wing and the Typhon missile system capable of launching Tomahawk cruise missiles.
Base spokesperson Lt. Col. Alli Stormer said the vehicles โpresent an unacceptable and unmitigable risk to our personnel and our mission,โ without giving details.
Yonhap, citing U.S. military officials, said the concern is that cameras, sensors, GPS and connected features could collect and leak sensitive information.
