NEW: Montenegro detained Rybar founder Mikhail Zvinchuk and four associates in a dawn raid on the Bay of Kotor.
Police and the national security agency (ANB) picked up the pro-Russian military blogger, his wife/creative director Valeria, and three staff at the Mövenpick Hotel in Risan this morning, seizing drones, digital equipment, and documents.
Authorities say they’d been watching the group for days.
The stated concern is that Zvinchuk’s planned documentary on Montenegro’s new visa rules for Russians would frame EU integration as damaging the economy.
Rybar (~1.5M subscribers) says the team was in the country legally and expects release.
Russia’s foreign ministry says its embassy is looking into it.
Zvinchuk — a former Russian MoD press officer — is under both UK and EU sanctions, and the US has a $10M Rewards for Justice bounty tied to alleged election interference by Rybar staff.

Türkiye’s AKINCI drone scored a direct hit on its first firing with ASELSAN’s new MGK (MORFOZ) guidance kit over the Gulf of Saros.
MORFOZ turns standard general-purpose bombs into glide munitions.
It features folding wings for standoff range, INS/GNSS navigation, an 8-channel CRPA antenna for GPS jamming resistance, selectable impact angle (including steep/vertical dive), and real-time telemetry back to the launch aircraft until impact.
The test adds the MORFOZ Guidance Kit to AKINCI’s already extensive arsenal of 20+ indigenous munitions, from MAM-series smart bombs to the ÇAKIR cruise missile and İHA-series supersonic missiles.

Ukraine hit a cruise-missile fuel plant in Tver Oblast overnight, the same facility that makes Decilin-M fuel for the Kh-101 missiles Russia fired at Pryluky two days ago.
The Redkino Experimental Plant, which produces specialized fuel for Kh-55/Kh-101 cruise missiles plus ferrocene-based rocket propellant additives, caught fire.
It’s the plant’s second strike in 2026 (first was in February) and it’s been under UK sanctions since September 2025.
The same night, Russia said it downed 505 Ukrainian drones across 19 regions.
A Yandex data center in Kaluga was also damaged (second consecutive night hitting Russian tech infrastructure), and an oil depot near Belgorod was set ablaze.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) suspended Riyadh flights after repeated Houthi strikes on Saudi airports — Thursday’s attack killed three, including a Saudia pilot.
Thursday’s strike on King Khalid International damaged a Saudia aircraft on the ground.
A Pakistani national was among those injured in earlier attacks this week.
Flightradar24 logged 335 cancelled flights at Riyadh on Thursday alone.
Lufthansa suspended Riyadh service until 16 October; IndiGo, Air India, and Akasa also pulled flights.
Across Pakistan, ~42 Saudi-bound flights were cancelled and 68 delayed, hitting Umrah pilgrims.
PM Sharif condemned the attacks and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to Saudi security under the Makkah Defence Alliance.

Greece has agreed to spend up to $4 billion on U.S. weapons and military upgrades, including advanced missiles, bombs and upgrading older F-16 fighter jets to the Viper version.
The deal follows Marco Rubio’s visit to Athens and is part of Greece’s broader €28 billion defense modernization plan through 2036, which includes F-35 fighter jets, Black Hawk helicopters and an Israeli-equipped air defense system.
The costs will be spread over several years, with officials saying most purchases were already budgeted.

Former German Chancellor Schröder visited Putin at home on his 74th birthday. The Kremlin said Putin spotted Schröder was in Moscow — there for a board seat at Russian supermarket chain Hyperglobus — and invited his “old friend” over on 7 October. The same…
German Chancellor Merz is “shocked” and calls Schröder’s birthday visit to Putin “immoral,” per the government spokesperson today.
CDU general secretary Hoppermann said “shame is hardly the word.”
Kiesewetter called it “betrayal of Europe and of one’s own country.”
The lone defender is SPD’s Stegner, who argued Schröder is one of the few Germans with access to Putin and the visit would be a success if it moved peace “even a millimetre.”

BMW withdrew its leasing offer for the official car of Tobias Rausch, the AfD politician elected president of Saxony-Anhalt’s state parliament on October 6.
The company did not explain its decision, but BMW CEO Milan Nedeljković recently criticized the AfD, calling right-wing populism and nationalism “poison” for Germany’s economy.
Rausch, the first AfD politician to become a state parliament president in Germany, will temporarily use his CDU predecessor’s BMW 7 Series.
However, its lease expires in November, potentially leaving him without an official car.

Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed Al Jaber said the strategic Bab el-Mandeb Strait has been cleared of Houthi forces, calling it a victory for Yemenis and Arabs.
The claim follows a government offensive launched this week to retake Houthi-held territory after the group advanced to Mayyun Island in September.
Al Jaber provided no details, and the Houthis have not commented.

Palestinian Vice President Hussein Al Sheikh has informed France that legislative elections scheduled for November 28 will be postponed by several months due to worsening political, security and economic conditions.
The decision follows the failure of expected U.S. commitments under Trump’s peace initiative, including Israeli troop withdrawals from Gaza, Hamas disarmament, efforts to prevent further West Bank annexation, and the release of nearly $7 billion in Palestinian funds withheld by Israel.
Palestinian officials say current conditions would undermine free and inclusive elections.

The Houthis don’t recognize national borders & define themselves as a revolutionary movement, not a state, with ambitions to spread their model beyond Yemen.
Information from Houthi-controlled areas is scarce. No free media. Information is controlled. People are afraid to speak.
The Houthis extract heavy taxes but provide no salaries, no services, no sense of responsibility toward their own society.

The Houthis are overconfident & believe no one can defeat them because they survived military confrontations.
But Yemen is also deeply divided, & the Houthis have made enemies of virtually every Yemeni faction.
They have shown no willingness to compromise - only to dominate. And that is not how Yemen works.

The Houthis can't control all of Yemen. They are a sectarian group in a heavily armed society - and their ideology is rejected by a large portion of Yemenis.
They have failed to build socio-political alliances & have lost past alliances. Tribal alliances in the north have eroded.
Even if the Houthis expanded militarily it can't sustain. They never speak about sharing power with other Yemenis.

Congressional Democrats are increasingly uniting behind efforts to impeach Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth over his handling of the Iran war, while party leaders remain reluctant to pursue another impeachment of President Trump.
Several Democrats, including Rep. Melanie Stansbury, have called for Hegseth’s removal, accusing him of violating congressional war powers and overseeing unlawful killings.
Republican Rep. Thomas Massie has also introduced an impeachment resolution that the House will be forced to consider after the November midterms.
