The Polish right wing has two paranoias: Russia and Germany.

You can maybe understand it historically when you are sandwiched, but it's sometimes more irrational than rational.

We definitely don't intend to get our eastern territories back because we don't even have the people for that. We are also in demographic decline.

I think we should study the Austro-Hungarian Empire and see it as an example of how to organize Europe.

We have seen the reports that Iran, Hezbollah, and other extremists in our region are conspiring to take advantage of the election period in Israel.

It doesn't matter if it's a provocative ballistic missile exercise, a cyberattack, or a disinformation campaign.

We are issuing a clear warning: Anyone who attempts to threaten or attack Israel will face devastating consequences.

We need gas, but of course not 100% from Russia.

This is why I'm so keen on having improved relations with Türkiye.

I want to have an energy partnership with Türkiye.

The energy hub for Europe is Türkiye, because from Türkiye, I can have pipelines to Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and so on.

The mistake was that in 2004, we had EU enlargement. This was important for Germany.

And then Greece blackmailed us and said: “We will only agree to EU enlargement in southeastern Europe if you agree to Cyprus.”

Again, German diplomacy is unfortunately weak diplomacy.

Instead of going into a fight, they allowed Greece to blackmail us.

So now we have Cyprus in the EU with an unresolved Cyprus question.

When there's a German right-wing party, everybody thinks Hitler comes out of the grave.

So we always have to convince them that you can be right-wing without being Hitler.

We don't want to kill people, wear uniforms, or start the next war.

If they ban us, you cannot ban 30 or 40% of the electorate. So definitely another party would come.

A party is just a vehicle to reach political goals.

There is only one China, and Taiwan is a special territory.

Not even Türkiye recognizes Taiwan as a state. Germany neither. We should not do that. China is a reality.

I don't admire Putin, but I have to admit that he is a person who brought Russia out of a very deep valley of tears.

Russia at the end of the Yeltsin era was completely sold out. It was criminal, dangerous, poor, humiliated. The state was in decline.

Now, when I listen to my government, Russia is going to conquer the whole of Europe if we don't take care. So obviously it worked.

On the other hand, I don't want to live in Russia.

Trump announced that the U.S. will buy a lot of diesel from Russia. So now American dollars fuel the Russian war machinery.

In my mind, we are witnessing the end of the Ukraine war because America has turned from being neutral and selling weapons for money into being one-sided.

When you begin to buy diesel from Russia in that amount, you effectively prohibit the Ukrainians from attacking the oil-producing industry in Russia, and you give money to the Russians.

That means America has changed sides.

We went very well with the Russians. We began the Russian gas deal in 1972. It was during Soviet times, and the Soviets delivered.

Russia as an energy partner worked even during the Cold War, so it's hard to say it's a bad choice.

We can get part of our competitiveness back. But that means we have to cut union rights. We have to change labor laws. We have to be more flexible.

Under the current regulations, it's impossible to compete with China on electric vehicles.

The Turkish defense industry was quicker than the German defense industry. We still build tanks; you already had drones.

Cooperation between the two defense industries makes sense, especially as our cooperation with France on a sixth-generation fighter jet has now failed.

We should increase defense cooperation, and we should also increase military cooperation.

There's almost no field where a deepening of the German-Turkish alliance does not make sense.

It makes sense in the military, defense technology, foreign policy, customs, Central Asian markets and many other things.
