Iranian state media reported that U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff’s meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly was held after repeated requests from the U.S. side.

Iran said it used the meeting to convey its conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, including the immediate lifting of a naval blockade, the release of frozen Iranian assets, and an end to the war on all fronts.
