Zelensky:

This winter could be very harsh for us, but in response, we will have no choice but to make it painful for Russia too.

Zelensky on Putin:

Russia's leader, patient zero, the man from whom this war began and spread into the world, becoming the largest war in Europe since World War II, will inevitably leave this world.

But the longer Putin is able to wage war, the more evil he will leave behind in this world.

Zelensky:

We know that Russia uses citizens of 47 countries in its war in Ukraine โ€” Ghana, Nepal, Tajikistan, India, Yemen, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Cuba, Belarus, Sudan, South Africa, and many, many others.

I want to speak directly to every representative of these 47 countries: you know what Russia is doing with your people. They're your citizens. Take care of them and do not let them end up on another front.

Do not let Putin drag you into this war. Do not let Russia put out its fires, cover up its shame, and pay for its madness with the lives of your people.

Zelensky:

We need to slow down the rapid development of weapons for killing before we reach the next stage, because as early as next year, there is already a real possibility that AI, not only people, will begin to decide what happens on the battlefield.

And we need peace before we reach that point.

Polish Foreign Minister Sikorski:

Russia is escalating because Russia's leadership is panicking. After more than four years of a senseless colonial war, Putin has achieved nothing.

He's running out of troops and resources and needs a pretext to mobilize. His unnecessary war has killed or wounded one and a half million Russians.

Polish Foreign Minister Sikorski:

To the representatives of the Russian Federation, I have this to say: You have been trying to conquer Donbas for over 12 years, and Kyiv for over four.

You have been stopped by heroic Ukraine, a country with one tenth of Russia's GDP.

But Poland has almost half of your GDP. Europe has 10 times your GDP. NATO has 25 times your GDP.

You can still kill a lot of people, but you cannot win.

Spanish PM Pedro Sรกnchez on AI:

The paradox is that we have these techno oligarchs investing in a technology that many of their workers say could kill and end humanity. And at the same time, these technical oligarchs are investing massively in immortality.

I think that what we need is serious regulation, responsible development of AI, and not bunkers and Mars missions for saving the techno oligarchs.

The situation of the far right is not coming from a specific content but from a specific tool, which is social media and the algorithm.

Because it is poisoning the public debate. It is contributing to dehumanize many political actors. Iโ€™m also a victim of it.

The U.S. drafted but never released a statement condemning UK, France and Canada over plans to restrict imports from Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

The September 8 draft, reportedly pushed by an aide to U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, accused the countriesโ€™ actions of contributing to antisemitism and compared them to the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement.

The statement was not backed by senior White House or State Department officials. Secretary of State Marco Rubio later avoided directly criticizing the measures, saying only that the U.S. would not follow the UKโ€™s decision.

Argentina's President Javier Milei:

Both Trump and Netanyahu are two people who are far above not only the average individual, but also within the concert of nations.

Netanyahu is an extraordinary leader with a geopolitical vision, and someone who understands the link with the cultural battle like very few people in the world.

The Falkland Islands are Argentine, so we will not give up on that claim.

They are Argentine by history, by right, by geography, and we will continue demanding them and we will achieve that at some point through diplomatic means that we recover them.

This has already happened at another time with the United Kingdom โ€” it happened with Hong Kong. Why should it not happen with us?

Senate Majority Leader John Thune told Axios that Trump is โ€œnot really dug inโ€ against AI guardrails, despite publicly dismissing AI safety fears as a โ€œhoax.โ€

Thune said he believes AI threats are real and supports legislation requiring companies to mitigate and report serious risks from advanced AI systems.

His bipartisan bill with Sen. Amy Klobuchar is still being negotiated, with Democrats pushing for mandatory pre-deployment testing and stronger federal rulemaking powers.

๐Ÿ“ธ Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa meets with Zelensky in New York.
Zelensky:

Met with Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa in New York.

A year ago here at the General Assembly, Ukraine and Syria restored diplomatic relations.

It is important that over this year there is already political, economic, and security momentum, including our dialogue at the leaders' level.

Ukraine is open to continuing to develop this and to working together for greater security in all dimensions and for every region.
