Do you know why winning in the first round never worked out?

Because the people like seeing me fight the second round — and I’m very good in the knockout stage.

Brazilian President Lula:

This country was historically designed to be governed for 35% of the population. Nobody ever thought about governing this country for 100% of the population.

When we think about governing for 100%, we have to include the people from the periphery. We have to think about how to create opportunities for poor children to study at university, and how to give people the opportunity to succeed in life.

We were never forgiven for the quotas. We were never forgiven for bringing people from the periphery into university. We were never forgiven for making it possible to finance very poor people so they could attend university.

The Northern Territories are inherently Japanese territory, both historically and under international law.

Relations with Russia, which continues its invasion of Ukraine, are in a difficult situation.

Nevertheless, we will maintain the government’s policy of resolving the territorial issue and concluding a peace treaty.

When Israel recognized Somaliland, they said other countries would follow.

Until today, not a single other country has followed, because what Israel is doing is wrong.

Even the local Somali population in Somaliland itself completely opposes Israel.

Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Türkiye:

What distinguishes Türkiye’s relationship with Somalia is what happened when Somalia was completely isolated.

At that critical moment, Erdogan, who was Türkiye’s prime minister at the time, came to Somalia. He did not come alone — he came with his family, his government, most of his ministers and a large part of the Turkish parliament.

He did not simply come to the airport and leave. He went to displaced-person camps and aid distribution sites. His wife and daughters were with him. He got out of his car and spoke to children in the street.

He asked one child: "Why aren’t you at school?" The child said: "We don’t have a school." He asked: "Where are your parents?" The child said: "My mother is sick in bed." He asked: "Why don’t you take her to a hospital?" The child said: "There is no hospital."

From that moment, they began building hospitals and schools. They brought the world’s attention back to Somalia.

Nobody wanted to invest in Somalia because it was considered too risky. But Türkiye came and invested in Mogadishu airport, Mogadishu port, and now, for the first time in our history, in oil and gas.
