🗞Apple finally lets you see your Wi-Fi network’s password in iOS 16
Apple is finally adding the ability to see your stored Wi-Fi password in iOS 16. MacRumors reports that the iOS 16 developer preview includes an option to view a Wi-Fi password and even copy it to share with friends or family. You need to authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode to see a stored password, and then you get an option to copy it.If you own an iPhone then you know of the struggle to share Wi-Fi passwords when a family member or friend visits and they’re a green bubble aficionado (Android user) or they own a Windows laptop. Even though your phone is connected to the network, you still have to search around for the Wi-Fi password at the back of the router or on that old crusty piece of paper where you shouldn’t be storing passwords anyway. Gone are the days of this familiar struggle once iOS 16 arrives.

💡Enable 'Night Mode' on all your devices If you often work at night or simply like to read on a screen before going to sleep, this can be a game changer. We recommend using F.lux on both Mac and Windows, although both operating systems have some support for this already built-in. Same goes for your mobile devices.

🗞Google Maps for Android, iOS adds an air quality layer in collaboration with PurpleAir and the EPA
If the air was marked ‘Unhealthy’, the badge in the top right corner of the screen would turn red and alert the user. One could also say “Hey Google, what’s the air quality near me” to get this information. Now, the company has announced that this same feature is making its way to Google Maps on Android and iOS!Last year, Google introduced an ‘Air Quality Information’ or AQI on Nest Hub devices, allowing users to see whether or not the air they’re breathing in from around them is of high or low quality. This took EPA measurement data on the level of pollution in the air and reported it in a visual format for anyone to easily understand in their homes.

💡Find/delete large files wasting space A handy tool called Space Sniffer can be used to easily find which files and folders are taking up the most space on your drive. From there, you can delete them and open up a ton of storage space. Other Windows alternatives (free) include WinDirStat and TreeSize. On macOS you can use Finder or Siri to find large files with no third party app, but we like to use GrandPerspective.

🗞macOS on iPad: After iPadOS 16, is it only a matter of time?
The latest iPadOS release adds a couple of key features that make the iPad act a whole lot more like a full-fat desktop platform. First, Virtual Memory Swap — new to iPadOS but absolutely ancient in the broader world of computers — lets the iPad siphon off internal storage to use like additional RAM. This is important because, before this, the iPad would have to gradually close apps in the background as its RAM filled up, just like a smartphone. Adding virtual RAM makes it behave more like macOS or Windows, with a large pool of additional memory from which to draw — up to an extra 16GB in iPadOS 16.Virtual memory, combined with fast flash storage, is the main reason Apple can get away with shipping MacBooks with 8GB of RAM that still perform well even in demanding activities like video editing and heavy multitasking.

💡Reduce the number of programs running at startup If your PC is taking too long to boot, it's probably because you have far too many programs running at startup. It's easy to reduce these and it will make your PC launch noticeably faster. Make sure you research what you are turning off as some processes might be needed by third party programs you have installed.
Windows: Open the task manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and head to the startup tab to configure what programs you want to launch with your system.
Windows 7 and prior: Open run (Windows key + R) and enter msconfig to access a window with a similar startup section.
macOS: Go to System Preferences > Users & Groups > Select your user and click on the Login Items tab. You can remove or hide startup applications from here.
