💡Close the current program Typing Alt + F4 will close the program that is running. This is useful as it saves you time mousing over the "X" and clicking. 💡Minimize all windows Sometimes you have a bunch of stuff running, and you want it all to go away so you can get to the desktop. Simply pressing Windows key + D will minimize everything you have up, which will save you some time pressing the minimize button for each window. It should be noted that Windows + M offers similar functionality, but there is no undoing, so Windows + D is the more favorable approach. In macOS we favor leveraging the power of Mission Control to handle virtual desktops, switching between apps, and peaking at your desktop beautifully.

🗞WhatsApp is working to let you add a voice message to your status

WhatsApp appears to be working on the option to let users record and upload voice messages to their WhatsApp status, according to evidence uncovered by WABetaInfo. Presumably, once the feature is live, the app would let you record a voice message just like you currently can inside a chat. That may also include uploading existing audio files (since you can also send those as messages on WhatsApp chats) but we've yet to see any evidence for that. Voice recordings in status updates would be shared with your WhatsApp contacts using the same privacy settings you use for photos and videos, and just like those, voice messages will also be end-to-end encrypted.WhatsApp is not the only app toying around with voice posts. Twitter has been testing out the option to post voice tweets on iOS for some time now, but the feature has yet to make its way to everyone.

🗞Windows 12 set for 2024 release, according to new report

According to a new report from Windows Central, Microsoft is shifting to a three-year update cycle for major versions of Windows. That suggests Windows 12 will be released in 2024, resuming a similar schedule to the one seen pre-Windows 10. Reports like these should always be taken with a pinch of salt, but author Zac Bowden has a strong track record for Windows news.Another significant change concerns the delivery of new features. Following the release of the 22H2 update, Microsoft will supposedly release feature-laden updates (known as “Moments”) every few months – up to four times a year. It means the 23H2 feature update gets cancelled, with its new functionality released gradually throughout 2023. Microsoft is yet to hint at any changes to the current Windows strategy, but its official policy of annual Windows 11 feature updates hasn’t been entirely accurate.

🗞Instagram follows Twitter by testing new Notes feature, ads on profile pages

Instagram is testing two new features for its social media platform. One feature is a way users can write notes and allow ads to be shown on their Instagram page. Both features are currently being tested, by Social Media Today (opens in new tab). Social media consultant Matt Navarra posted some pictures about the new features in testing, showing how they may appear to users.According to Social Media Today, the proposed Notes feature will allow users to create a “60 character long update.” This note will be available for everyone associated with the creator and displayed at the top of their IG Direct inbox. These short blurbs could be seen as a way to engage with followers or to perhaps tease something to come without the need for a photo or a story.Twitter recently began testing its own Notes feature, which allows users to publish longer-form posts to their accounts.

🗞MacBook Pro with M2 Pro and Max chips may be released this fall

powerful Apple M2 Pro and M2 Max processors. According to Gurman, compared to the current models of processors in the Pro line, the main attention during the development of new chips was paid to speeding up graphics. This is also indicated by the fact that the M2 processor with a 10-core GPU, which debuted in the updated MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro, has 35% faster graphics than the previous M1 chip.According to Gurman, the design and specs of future MacBook Pros will “probably stay pretty much the same,” since Apple revamped the lineup just last year, adding MagSafe charging, more ports, and better displays. While Apple is reportedly hoping to release the new MacBook Pros in the fall, Gurman notes that the company could delay them until spring 2023. “Given the ongoing supply chain issues, it’s difficult to predict exactly when they will hit store shelves,” he writes.
