🗞Google might soon do away with Duo to focus on Meet

Google sort of started getting their act together when they placed all their communication services under the leadership of G Suite Head Javier Soltero. He said a couple of months ago that it doesn’t make sense that Duo and Meet can still exist under the same banner. As we have been seeing that Google is becoming more aggressive in pushing Meet to be able to compete and try to beat video conferencing app Zoom.
Google has obviously been focusing on Meet as they have even put a special Meet tab in the Gmail app. They have also made it free for everyone at least until they reach peak usage probably. Because also of the observation with Zoom that regular consumers don’t mind using enterprise video calling apps for their personal calls, we might soon see a merger of Duo and Meet and it has even been codenamed as “Duet”.

🗞WhatsApp may soon allow group admins to delete incoming messages

WhatsApp is testing a new feature that will give more power to group admins. While WhatsApp has long supported the ability to delete messages in chats, it currently doesn’t allow admins to remove messages sent by group members. But that can be changing soon.
As spotted by WABetainfo, the Meta-owned instant messaging app is testing a new change that may finally enable admins to delete messages for everyone in groups. What this means is that if you’re moderating a WhatsApp group, you’ll be able to remove unwanted or inappropriate messages sent by group members.

As WABetoinfo notes, this feature is still a work in progress and isn’t accessible to end-users. We don’t know when WhatsApp plans to roll it out to everyone. Provided WhatsApp doesn’t scrap it, the feature will most likely first arrive on WhatsApp beta before making its way to the stable channel.

🗞Use the mouse side buttons

Many new computer mice also have buttons on the side of the mouse. These buttons can be programmed to do anything. However, by default, the left-thumb button can go back on a web page. Using the thumb button makes browsing the Internet more efficient, because you do not need to move the mouse pointer to the browser's back arrow button to go back a page.

🖱iOS 16 could end support for iPhone 6s and original iPhone SE

If you own an iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus or the original iPhone SE, 2022 looks like the year you're going to want to upgrade to one of the best iPhones because it sounds like your current handset isn't going to be able to run the next major iOS update from Apple.
That's the word from iPhoneSoft, anyhow, with the French blog claiming to have the inside scoop about iOS 16 compatibility from a source within Apple. There's no official announcement yet, since iOS 16 isn't likely to see the light of day until a preview at next June's Worldwide Developer Conference in advance of a release in the fall.
and that iOS support will be cut off for the original iPhone SE and the iPhone 6s models, it's hardly a shocking development. Apple released the first iPhone SE in 2016, so the phone will be more than 6 years old by the time iOS 16 is ready for its fall 2022 release.

💡Use the Windows Snap To feature

Take full advantage of the Windows mouse Snap To feature, which automatically moves your mouse to buttons that appear in a dialog box. For example, if you delete a file or close a window, you may get a prompt asking you if you are sure you want to perform the task. With the Snap To feature enabled, the mouse pointer automatically moves to the Ok button, so you only need to click the left mouse button if you agree. This saves you the time of having to move the mouse pointer to the Ok button and then click Ok.

To enable this feature, open the Mouse properties under the Windows Control Panel and check the Snap To check box under the Pointer Options tab.

🗞Apple gets hit by its second fine by Italian regulators in a week

Apple and Google have each been fined €10 million by Italy’s competition authority for not properly obtaining a user’s consent before using their data for commercial purposes, the AGCM has announced. Both are accused of not correctly informing users when their data will be used in this way, preventing customers from being able to give their informed consent.In a statement, Google said it disagrees with the ruling and plans to appeal. “We give people simple controls to manage their information and limit the use of personal data, and we work hard to be fully compliant with the consumer protection rules,” a spokesperson said. Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.This is the second time Apple has been fined by the Italian regulator this week, after it and Amazon were hit with fines totaling over €200 million for restricting who’s allowed to sell Apple.

🗞Apple will continue to use Intel processors in the next generation Mac Pro

Apple is working on two new Mac Proes, one of which has a completely new design and the other has an old design with new interior parts. Although Apple Silicon can compete well with Intel laptop processors, the Cupertinos are apparently unsure about their performance in the desktop class.
The Mac Pro is used by highly professional users such as animators, photographers and the like, so it has to be very powerful and, of course, expensive. So Apple needs to take a more cautious approach to them than the MacBook Pro.
With that in mind, Apple’s new computer will continue to use Intel processors and is expected to be equipped with Xeon Scalable processors. According to Intel, these processors provide users with the best performance, security and productivity, and with the built-in AI accelerator, can perform IoT tasks and AI well.

🗞Android 13 Could Let Users Set Language on a Per-App Basis

Google is working on a new feature that is codenamed 'Panlingual,' for Android 13 and this feature is going to let users define language settings on a per-app basis.An unnamed source with this information has told the source that it will allow users to specify choose a specific language for each app on their device which is going to be very useful for multilingual users.
it will appear as a new "App languages" option within the "Language & input" settings that are already there. However, users will also be able to access it from the "App info" screen. It is important to keep in mind that the feature is currently in the early stages of development and the final version of Android 13 might see a different interpretation of this feature.
It is worth mentioning that Google Maps already lets users change the internal language settings while most of the other apps rely on the system-wide language setting.
