Losses from Coldcard wallet exploits have reached $89 million.

Galaxy Research reports a third wave of attacks targeting vulnerable Coldcard Mk3 hardware wallets, where hackers stole an additional 208 BTC from roughly 1,900 addresses.

The cumulative theft now stands at 1,367 BTC (approximately $89 million) across 4,585 wallets.

Researchers attribute this vulnerability to a firmware bug from 2021 that generated seed phrases using predictable software entropy rather than the device's hardware random number generator, enabling attackers to reconstruct private keys offline.

Galaxy Research also notes that some stolen funds are already being laundered through THORChain and online casinos.

If you created a wallet on a Coldcard Mk3 using the affected firmware and lack a BIP-39 passphrase for protection, you should move your funds immediately.
