🏢 BITCOIN TREASURY COMPANIES HAVE A NEW PROBLEM

Companies built around accumulating Bitcoin have created one of this cycle’s biggest trades.
Now MSCI is questioning whether some of them should remain inside major stock indexes.
The index provider has opened a new consultation on so-called “non-operating companies.”
Under a simulation of the proposed rules, three companies would have been removed from the MSCI ACWI IMI:
🔸 Strategy
🔸 Metaplanet
🔸 Yellow Cake
The first two are among the best-known corporate Bitcoin holders.
Strategy currently holds roughly 840,447 BTC, while Metaplanet holds around 43,000 BTC.
Why does index eligibility matter?
Because inclusion can bring passive investment from funds that track those indexes.
Remove the stock, and that automatic demand can disappear.
Nothing has been decided yet.
This is a consultation — not an exclusion announcement.
But it exposes a new risk in the Bitcoin treasury model:
Buying BTC is one thing.
Convincing traditional markets that a company primarily holding BTC is still an operating business…
may be another.

🧱 WHY BITCOIN CAN’T ESCAPE THE $62K–$65K ZONE
Bitcoin’s current range may look random.
It isn’t.
💛 @Cryptocurrency_Inside

Bitcoin’s current range may look random.
It isn’t.
Onchain data analyzed by Bitfinex shows approximately 1.79 million BTC were acquired between $62,000 and $65,000.
That represents almost 9% of Bitcoin’s entire circulating supply.
The biggest concentration sits around $63,800.
Think about what that means.
Every time BTC moves through this zone, an enormous group of holders moves between profit and loss.
Some sell when they finally reach breakeven.
Others buy when price falls back below their entry.
That creates a natural battlefield.
Between August 5 and 10, Bitcoin traded above $65K on six separate daily highs…
…but failed to produce one daily close above $65K.
This is why throwing more bullish headlines at Bitcoin hasn't automatically created a breakout.
There is real supply waiting.
But there is also real demand underneath.
So the range itself tells us what matters:
Above it: buyers finally overwhelmed the supply.
Below it: the floor failed.
Until one side wins, $62K–$65K isn't just a price range.
It’s where almost 1.8 million BTC are fighting to get back into profit.

A cyberattack on France's tax authority leaked personal and financial records of approximately 678,000 individuals.
Security researchers warn this data could target wealthy crypto holders. The breach is alarming amid recent violent "wrench attacks" on crypto holders in France.
The leaked records identify high-net-worth individuals, providing criminals with ready-made targets.
This incident highlights the growing physical security risk for crypto holders when sensitive financial data is exposed through government breaches.

A crypto trader turned $9,645 into $282,000 (29x return) by front-running token burns linked to Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ), per Lookonchain data.
After spending 16 BNB plus gas fees to buy tokens ahead of CZ's burns, the trader profited before CZ abandoned the wallet.
This case highlights the tracking of high-profile wallets and the countermeasures taken when their activity is mirrored.

The crypto market is trying to stabilise today, with Bitcoin trading around the $63.6K zone while total market capitalisation holds near $2.23 trillion.
ETH remains soft around the $1.62K area, while BNB and SOL are holding relatively steady.
Overall, the market is showing some resilience, but there is still not enough momentum to confirm a stronger recovery.
Sentiment remains in Fear at 29, showing that traders are still cautious and confidence across the market remains fragile.
Derivatives activity is still worth watching. Open interest stands near $93.88B, while around $86.99M in liquidations over the past 24 hours shows that leveraged positions are still being cleared as the market searches for direction.
For now, Bitcoin holding the current range is constructive. A stronger move higher with better volume would be needed before the broader market can regain stronger bullish confidence.

THE NEXT ALTCOIN SEASON MAY LOOK NOTHING LIKE THE LAST ONE

For years, crypto had a very simple playbook.
Bitcoin moved.
Ethereum followed.
Then money flowed down the rankings until almost everything started pumping.
That model may be breaking.
Institutional investors entering crypto are increasingly looking beyond one question:
“How big is the token?”
And asking much harder ones:
• Does the protocol generate real revenue?
• Are people actually using it?
• Does the token capture any of that value?
• Is capital staying on the network?
• Can the economics survive when incentives disappear?
That shift matters.
Institutional counterparties represented roughly 72% of Wintermute’s spot OTC activity during the first half of 2026, up from around 59% a year earlier.
And those flows have increasingly concentrated around major assets, revenue-producing protocols and tokenized real-world assets.
Hyperliquid is a good example of the new mentality.
Instead of simply saying:
“HYPE is smaller than ETH, therefore it has room to grow…”
investors can actually study trading volume, revenue, usage and token economics.
This could change what an “altseason” looks like.
The next cycle may not be:
EVERY ALTCOIN GOES UP.
It may be:
CAPITAL PICKS WINNERS.
Projects with users, revenue and genuine value capture could separate dramatically from tokens surviving mainly on narrative.
And if that happens…
being an altcoin will no longer be enough.
You’ll need a reason to exist.
