The cryptocurrency market is experiencing a severe downturn, with trading volume on centralized exchanges (CEXs) dropping by 74% since August 2025.
This sharp decline signals a major slowdown in overall market activity, characterized by reduced trader participation and lower liquidity across major platforms.
Amidst these challenging conditions, Bitmart, a formerly prominent crypto exchange, has recently announced its closure.
Since exchanges rely heavily on trading fees for revenue, this dramatic reduction in volume directly undermines their profitability.
Without sufficient market activity, maintaining operations has become unsustainable, particularly for smaller or struggling platforms like Bitmart.

An unidentified investor has recently attracted significant attention from crypto traders by spending approximately $50 million in DAI to acquire 25,425 ETH within a matter of hours.
Such large-scale purchases frequently lead to speculation regarding insider information or a strong belief in Ethereum's short-term potential.
While the investor's specific motives remain unknown, the market typically reacts when wallets of this magnitude begin buying so aggressively.
It remains unclear whether this move represents smart money or simply a highly confident wager.

For now, the market is stabilizing — but confirmation still matters before calling this a clean breakout.

31 Vulnerabilities Identified in x402 Crypto Payment Protocol
Security experts have uncovered 31 flaws within the x402 protocol, a framework facilitating machine-to-machine transactions via HTTP.
These vulnerabilities impact operators managing nearly 99% of recorded x402 activity.
Two specific "free-shopping" attack methods, which allow the acquisition of goods or services without valid payment, have been confirmed. While other high-impact attack vectors were identified, testing was intentionally limited to prevent actual exploitation during the disclosure process.
Backed by Coinbase, x402 positions itself as essential infrastructure for AI agents and autonomous payments. Given the widespread nature of these flaws, the majority of active x402 transactions faced risks of asset theft or payment bypass.
Developers and users utilizing x402 payment flows are advised to check for patches and operator updates before continuing production use.

Ethereum is nearing its market cycle bottom relative to Bitcoin, though CryptoQuant analysts note that a reversal has not been confirmed yet.
The asset is currently trading 17% below its realized price, which represents the average cost of ETH in circulation.
Among the five key metrics reviewed, only two have reached their previous low points.
While selling pressure is easing and the proportion of Ethereum held in staking has reached 34%, the market-to-realized value (MVRV) ratio remains higher than levels typically seen at past cycle bottoms.
Analysts have not yet observed a final capitulation by market participants.

Stablecoin market capitalization fell sharply in June, with reports pointing to one of the biggest contractions since the Terra UST/LUNA collapse in 2022.
At first, that may sound bearish. But the deeper story is more interesting.
A major reason behind the shift is regulation.
The GENIUS Act restricts issuers from paying yield directly on payment stablecoins. That means capital looking for returns is now moving into other on-chain products, especially tokenized U.S. Treasury funds.
These products allow investors to keep exposure to dollar-based assets while still earning yield from Treasury-backed instruments.
In simple terms:
Stablecoins are still being used heavily for payments, trading and settlements.
But money that wants yield is moving somewhere else.
That explains why stablecoin market cap can fall while stablecoin usage remains strong.
Adjusted stablecoin transaction volume reportedly hit a record $1.79 trillion in June, up 63% month over month.
That is a massive signal.
It suggests that demand for on-chain dollars is not disappearing. It is evolving.
The market is separating stablecoins into two different roles:➡️ Payment stablecoins for fast transactions.➡️ Tokenized Treasuries for yield.
This could become one of the biggest trends in crypto finance.
The stablecoin market is not dying. It is becoming more institutional.

A significant selloff swept through cryptocurrency markets, resulting in over $700 million in liquidations as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP experienced sharp declines ahead of the Federal Open Market Committee meeting.
Approximately $80 billion flowed out of the crypto sector during the Tuesday morning crash, signaling widespread risk-averse sentiment driven by macroeconomic uncertainty surrounding the Federal Reserve's upcoming rate decision.
Historically, FOMC meetings have sparked volatility in digital asset markets, as traders adjust their portfolios in anticipation of potential shifts in monetary policy.

Crypto Networks Are Getting Stronger While Prices Stay Weak
The market is not giving traders an easy signal right now.
Prices are still under pressure, sentiment is cautious, and Bitcoin is struggling to turn the mid-$60K zone into a clean breakout.
But underneath the price action, something important is happening.
Ethereum, Solana and Avalanche are reportedly getting busier and cheaper to use, even while token prices remain weak.
That matters.
Because strong networks are not only measured by price.
They are measured by activity, usage, fees, liquidity and real demand.
In crypto, price often moves first. But sometimes, fundamentals build quietly before the market reacts.
This is why traders should not only watch candles.
They should also watch what people are actually using.
If network activity keeps growing while costs fall, that can become a powerful long-term signal.
The question now is simple:
Is the market ignoring real adoption, or are prices warning that demand is still not strong enough?
