👋 Hey, DeMi community! Today, we celebrate one of the most iconic days in cryptocurrency history — Bitcoin’s Birthday!

On January 3, 2009, Satoshi Nakamoto mined the Genesis Block, marking the official birth of the Bitcoin blockchain and a new era of financial freedom. The Genesis Block is the first block in a blockchain, unique in that it does not reference any previous blocks. It carries both technical significance and a powerful symbolic message. Embedded in the block is a line from The Times newspaper on January 3, 2009:

“Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks”

— a reminder of the fragility of the traditional financial system.

💡 Today is also Proof of Keys Day. This annual event, initiated by Trace Mayer, encourages participants to declare monetary sovereignty by withdrawing their BTC from centralized platforms to wallets where they control the private keys. Remember: Not your keys, not your Bitcoin!
