Assam has achieved 100% railway electrification across its entire 2589 route kilometer broad gauge network. The milestone was met after completing the challenging 169-km Lumding to Badarpur Hill Section under the Northeast Frontier Railway.

Railway electrification work in Assam officially started in May 2017, with the entire broad-gauge network reaching 100% electrification in September 2026.
