While people should be concerned about how the Elections are being conducted and how the Election Commission is working, some facts are needed to be firmly put on record.

1. CJI was never on the CEC and EC selection panel. CJI was in the panel as an interim measure until a codified law for the appointments are made by the govt.

2. PM solely used to select/appoint the troika of EC. That was the case before 2014 too. So saying that the present govt did this is wrong. It in fact added LoP to the panel.

3. No new voter registration (18+) has been stopped. A fake news is being peddled in the social media by few of the people, please don’t believe this fake news.

4. SIR is not an illegal process. It has been conducted in 2002-2003 also. It is removing dead, shifted and duplicitous voters. So there’s nothing illegal here. There may be a debate on few instances of removing a genuine voter which may happen in a country as large as ours.
Infact I myself have been removed from the voter list as I had shifted!!!!

5. Please don’t fall for the fake news and propaganda. People are hell bent on ensuring we don’t progress. Watch out for people like them.
