With all the focus on glyphosate and Roundup, it's worth mentioning another popular agricultural & residential herbicide—DICAMBA.

Genetically engineered dicamba-resistant crops were approved in 2020, followed by increased dicamba use.

Researchers analyzed data from the Agricultural Health Study (AHS) , a prospective cohort of pesticide applicators in Iowa & North Carolina. Exposure was characterized by cumulative intensity-weighted lifetime days, including exposure lags of up to 20 years.

Among ~50,000 applicators, 26,000 (53%) used dicamba. Data was compared between applicators with and without dicamba use and those with the highest use had elevated risk of liver & bile duct cancer, chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), and myeloid leukemia. The associations for liver cancer and myeloid leukemia remained after lagging exposure of up to 20 years.
