Have you heard about the parents who had the embryo mix-up at a Longwood, Florida in vitro fertilization clinic? Parents Tiffany Score and Steven Mills sued the center in January after learning that their newborn, Shea, was not genetically related to either of them. They are both white and decided to pursue genetic testing because their baby “displayed the physical appearance of a racially non-Caucasian child.” In fact, the baby is 100% South Asian and DNA testing identified one South Asian couple from 16 sets of potential parents who had procedures around the same time as Score and Mills.
