The World Health Organization has reported 11 cases of hantavirus and three deaths linked to an outbreak on a cruise ship.

The CDC reports there are no U.S. cases of hantavirus currently. The agency is monitoring 41 people for the virus, but the risk to the public remains low.

Very low. Vinay Prasad says there is an extremely low risk to the general public. Translation: there is no chance this will become a pandemic. You have no risk of contracting hantavirus, unless you decide to sweep mice droppings in New Mexico.
