Gujarat-based EV company, Matter, unveils India's first AI-defined two-wheeler platform.

The platform will serve as the foundation for Matter’s future electric two-wheelers, including motorcycles and scooters, across five segments by 2030.

Their current flagship model, the Matter AERA (India’s first geared electric motorcycle with a 4-speed HyperShift gearbox), which was previously built as a software-defined vehicle, will be migrated to this new AIDV architecture.

This builds on Matter’s in-house innovations like liquid-cooled batteries/motors, over-the-air updates that can alter vehicle behavior without hardware changes, and a focus on indigenous tech (including reducing reliance on imports like rare-earth magnets).

The company also announced plans to invest $100–150 million over the next three years to scale this tech, expand production, and launch new products.

Apple to launch its digital payments service, Apple Pay, in India by 2026 end.

Apple is actively working with Indian banks, regulators (including the Reserve Bank of India), and card networks such as Visa and Mastercard to secure the necessary approvals.

The launch is expected to be phased, likely starting with support for card-based contactless payments (including the “Tap to Pay on iPhone” feature via NFC for in-store transactions).

Apple Pay is already available in over 89 countries worldwide but has not yet supported domestic use in India—currently limited to cross-border payments (e.g., international customers using it on Indian e-commerce sites via gateways like Razorpay).

Indian users can’t add local debit/credit cards to Apple Wallet or use it for everyday domestic transactions, in-store payments, or integration with systems like UPI (which dominates India’s digital payments landscape under the National Payments Corporation of India).

The rollout will depend on regulatory clearances and commercial agreements, including fee structures with card issuers.
