*STOCK MARKET STORY*
A lot of monkeys lives near a village.๐
One day a merchant came to the village to buy these monkeys!๐ต
He announced that he will buy the monkeys @ 100 each. ๐
The villagers thought that this man is mad.๐
They thought how can somebody buy stray monkeys at 100 each?๐ค
Still, some people caught some monkeys and gave it to this merchant and he gave 100 for each monkey. ๐ฌ
This news spread like wildfire and people caught monkeys and sold it to the merchant.๐ฌ
After a few days, the merchant announced that he will buy monkeys @ 200 each. ๐
The lazy villagers also ran around to catch the remaining monkeys!๐
They sold the remaining monkeys @ 200 each.๐
Then the merchant announced that he will buy monkeys @ 500 each!๐ฎ
The villagers start to lose sleep! ... They caught six or seven monkeys, which was all that was left and got 500 each.๐
The villagers were waiting anxiously for the next announcement.๐
Then the merchant announced that he is going home for a week. And when he returns, he will buy monkeys @ 1000 each!๐
He asked his employee to take care of the monkeys he bought. He was alone taking care of all the monkeys in a cage.๐
The merchant went home.๐
The villagers were very sad as there were no more monkeys left for them to sell it at 1000 each.โน๏ธ
Then the employee told them that he will sell some monkeys @ 700 each secretly. ๐
This news spread like fire. Since the merchant buys monkey @ 1000 each, there is a 300 profit for each monkey.๐ฌ
The next day, villagers made a queue near the monkey cage.๐ต๐ค
The employee sold all the monkeys at 700 each. The rich bought monkeys in big lots. The poor borrowed money from money lenders and also bought monkeys! ๐
The villagers took care of their monkeys & waited for the merchant to return. ๐ค
But nobody came! ...๐ณ Then they ran to the employee ...๐
But he has already left too !๐
The villagers then realised that they have bought the useless stray monkeys @ 700 each and unable to sell them! ๐ฉ

How to avoid a burnout.
7 rules that will stop you from quitting.
1. Have โPartners in Crimeโ
Invest time to find someone (or small team) that has the same goals. Push each other forward, in the good and in the bad. Someone that you trust and can be open/honest about new ideas or challenges. This person can be an online stranger. Make it fun.
2. Change environment
You donโt need to hop on a plane. Work from home? Then change rooms. Or go to cafes, libraries, etc. Being stuck in the same space for long periods reduces your creativity levels. Change your surroundings and your energy levels will change for the good.
3. Move your body
Avoid sitting down for more than one hour. If you have phone calls, stand up, talk while walking. Go for walks. Or hey, even โinventโ a stand-up desk. Those that donโt quit say: โYou need to work outโ. Do push/sit-ups, shake your body. You will feel recharged.
4. Set realistic expectations
You start a new job or projectโฆ โthis looks easyโ. Wrong thinking. You need to buckle up. There is no such thing as a smooth ride. Avoid excessive optimism or pessimism; be realistic. Wrong expectations can lead to demotivation. Stay focused.
5. Organise your workload
โI need holidaysโ. Look, vacations wonโt help if you end up going back to the same pile of work. Find ways to detach yourself from work every day. 2 in 3 people say that a large workload led to burnout. Prioritise, one thing at a time & stay positive.
6. Study your breaking point
โI canโt do this anymoreโ. Breaking points donโt happen overnight. They are a build-up of emotions that end in an outburst. Recognise these feelings & release your tension. Things like laughing, caffeine reduction or chewing a gum releases tension.
7. Slow down, to speed up
You start new experiences with full power. Yet, as the honeymoon phase fades... You get a reality check. It wasnโt as easy, right? Or not fun. Switch up your daily activity speed & routine. Don't give up. Take a step back and come back pushing harder.
