#RUSSIA: Alleged participants in activities of "undesirable organisations" fined
A Moscow Region court fined religious freedom researcher Olga Sibiryova of the Sova Centre for Information and Analysis after her work was allegedly cited by a foreign organisation deemed "undesirable". The Sova Centre says neither it nor Sibiryova ever interacted with the organisation. A repeat offence could lead to criminal prosecution, with a maximum 4-year jail term. The General Prosecutor's Office declared more than 20 religiously-affiliated organisations "undesirable", some linked to Protestants (including Mission Eurasia), Jehovah's Witnesses, and Falun Gong. Fines and destruction orders continue for Mission Eurasia publications.
