.... and they come from Arizona near the Grand Canyon - in mid-latitudes. They were not visible to the naked eye, but special cameras capture the northern lights, which should not be there!

👆🏻👆🏻👆🏻Ok this is just me thinking out loud but 1) if solar storms are coming from the sun, these particles/ waves travel at the speed of light we were taught, so why does it take 24-36 hours to reach earth and astronomers can “see them” in such an advance? 2). Why are there vertical columns of radiation and invisible to naked eye? Why do you need camera spectrum to “see” this effect?

I used to live on Lake Michigan and we saw greenish “Northern lights” flowing horizontal pattern. Didn’t look like this in 1972…
