I had the belt in the bedroom for me to help with bee stings to my foot. I didn’t set out today to make a shameless ad but I’ve noticed cats gravitate to lying over the red lights or under the big panel. I think it aids healing and apparently so does Orange Man cat. In 1903 Swiss doctor Auguste Rollier opened his “sunlight clinic,” which featured an enormous solarium on the roof and developed a slow, careful tanning process for new or especially feeble patients.
"Properly aired and sunlit, skin becomes velvety, supple tissue, absolutely immune from anything of the nature of pimples, acne, and incapable of infection. Sunshine is the finest cosmetic. Skin, well-pigmented in response to sun-bathing, becomes firm and strong, but at the same time delicate and soft. Followed, by a filling out of the exposed skin and a smoothing away of wrinkles results from sunbathing. Increased beauty is the outcome." This renegade advice is in Sunlight and Health, written by an English physician in 1929.
