My grandfather was a blacksmith and farmer here in the county seat in 1910. He had barely two nickels to rub together and he was among the more prosperous at the time. There is no way they could have funded and built this structure—In one year especially! He invented a spring loaded clevis pin to hook the horses / Tbar to a wagon ( helpful in freezing cold weather where metal contracts). But he couldn’t sell it because his cost 25cents and the standard was 10 cents. The local history is a lie—Part of a bigger lie accepted now as our history. I wish I could talk to him now…
