Vice President Vance briefly gaggled with reporters before boarding Air Force Two.
He answers questions on Alaska, Ranked Choice voting and Lame Duck congressional session
Context: He is doing both a rally and a Fox News Townhall in Texas today.
ON ALASKA: “Of course, hiding from that, lying about it to Alaska voters, and I'm hearing some from some of my friends in the media that now Mary Peltola refuses to answer questions about the fact that she tried to commit election fraud against Alaska voters.”
ON TEXAS: “Good morning, everybody. Looking forward to campaigning with Ken Paxton, who's running against one of the oddest ducks. I think the Democrats have put forward on their side. A person who has talked about men and women's sports. A guy who's talked about, you know, just he's just a crazy person, and I think Ken Paxton is a great patriot. He's made an amazing Attorney General in the state of Texas. So we're going to go and talk to some Texas voters, and then do a little Texas town hall.” —pool

On Alina Habba and a pardon for Julio Herrera: “It's one thing for a person to get paid legal fees or whatever. She's a lawyer. I thought it was totally obnoxious and outrageous, and it's not acceptable.”
Asked if he expects her to make a donation to the library, he said: "No, not her. I expect maybe the people. I don't know if anybody wants to make it, but it's unacceptable what she did.”
On D.C. and VA suing to block the Arch, Trump said, “They’ve sued me on everything — they’ve lost every lawsuit.”
Asked about U.S. intelligence concerns around Jensen Huang’s relationship with a suspected Chinese operative, he said: “I didn't know about the specific thing, but I hope he's going to be okay. He's a great, brilliant person, and we want to protect our brilliant people. When it comes to chips, there's never been anybody like him. So we hope that everything's okay with Jensen. I have a lot of respect for him. I like him. We hope everything's okay. We'll check it out. We're going to check it out very closely.”
Asked if he still had confidence in Huang as an adviser on U.S. technology policy, he said: "I have a lot of advisors. I have a group of advisors. They all meet together. I would like to say yes. I mean, unless we find out something to the contrary, I've always found Jensen Huang to be very above board. But you know, you're dealing in a very complex issue, I will say.”
He said he would invite Zelensky to the G20.
On Iran: "We still have to take care of, I would say one or two sites, but we can do that in in 10 minutes,” he added. “You probably could look at Pickaxe Mountain, and you have to take care of that.”
Earlier he said the Iran negotiations were “going fine,” but that "they're not very reliable." "We'll see if they make a deal.” He bristled at a question of whether he intends to resume kinetic action as soon as this week.
He called Abdul El-Sayed “a jihadist” and "a person that hates black people, hates Jewish people, and I think probably hates all people."
He called the Dan J. Sullivan candidacy “a fraud of the people,” and said, “Nobody can find him now, so he knows he's guilty.”
Florida Democratic senate candidate Angie Nixon is "not of the intellect to be running for the Senate,” he said. "She's a very low IQ person."
He said he would get a report tomorrow on the U.S. warning Russia of a possible terrorist attack.
He told El Salvador's leader "Look, you're running your country, you have to do what you have to do,” after Bukele told him he had a problem with Haiti. Asked if the U.S. would consider helping, he said they don’t need it.
No plans to meet Bolsonaro, he said, but "he can stay here as long as he wants.”
