To all those who are writing Mains 2026!
Wish you Good luck! Just go with flow!!
Anxiety is a very common feeling at this point of time, even for those who have secured a rank or even if I have to sit for the exam. It’s quite natural. So take it in your stride & keep going.
Of course, you would have studied a lot and many things would be running in your head. But once you start writing things would flow quite easily. Trust me on this! Your mind has so much capacity.
(I know some of you in this group would have experienced that)
Make sure you are in the right frame of mind. It’s just another exam. Focus only on the process - preparation and give your best shot.
Take your parents blessings .. go and enjoy the process!
Also do remember that, even if 1st half does not go according to your expectation make sure you make the most use of the 2nd half, Instead of repenting for what has been done. Avoid discussions of the previous papers.
A positive frame of mind is very important.
There might be small disturbances like invigilators talking, when you are sincerely writing the exam or the person in charge giving the question paper 5 mins late, benches not comfortable..all these are part and parcel of the exam.
But your intention should be to write 20 good enough answers rather than writing 12-15 best answers😊
Learn to accept realities (certain disturbances that may or may not happen in the exam center) and control your emotions and give your best.
Do remember, ‘the ONLY thing that you can control is yourself and your emotions. Take one paper at a time.
And many a times post writing the paper, one feels i could have done better. Again thats a common feeling.
‘Common Sense & Presence of mind’ is the key to answer bouncer questions (surprises) that one is not aware of & UPSC has a knack of asking 😊
God bless you all.
All the best,
Mohan Sir and from the entire team!
