From Friday, 19 April 1600 UTC through Tuesday, 23 April 1600 UTC, any item you recycle will reward double the XM you'd normally get. In addition, the Earth Day 2022 medal will be back on sale for 2500 CMU.

⚠️ Our Korean members reported that Niantic changed one of the locations of the upcoming Shard Skirmish Events from Gwangju to Goyang, South Korea due to the latter also hosting a Mission Day on April 27th!
The city of Goyang will therefore host these two events on the same day.

Niantic has released Update 2.139.1 into the App Stores!
In addition to adding the new App icon for Buried Memories that we reported on last update a change has been implemented that fixes latency issues while recharging Portals.
Members of our discussion group have also discovered that the icon for the Aegis Shield has been changed in the Portal details making it easier to differentiate from the other Portal Shields.

The Earth Day 2024 event has started! Until Tuesday, 23 April 1600 UTC all XM gained from recycling is doubled. This includes XM from Power Cubes, making them essentially x2 effective as well as long as you recycle them from your inventory!
The Earth Day 2022 medal is also now in the store for 2.500 CMU and includes not only the medal but also three Via Lux and Via Noir Beacons each as well as four Peace Beacons for a total of ten Beacons.

Niantic has added a new Store bundle for the current Buried Memories Field Op: the "Link + Field Supply" kit!
Included in the kit are 300 L1 Resonators as well as 10 Rare Heat Sinks. The kit can only be bought once, however this limit will be reset regularly at a as of yet unknown schedule.

It seems like we will regularly get new, free items in the store going forward! When these items rotate, whether it'll be the same bundles each time and what the requirements are for seeing specific bundles is still unknown, but we encourage you to check back into the store from time to time!

Niantic has released Update 2.140.1 to the App Stores!
Among the updates and fixes in this version an update to brackets around Portals when the Portal is selected in certain situations was included. An unintended overlay of the Portals title in various screens was fixed together with a bug that sent you to the Alerts tab in COMM when tapping on a message you were tagged in in the bottom right of the main map screen.
While not mentioned specifically, this Update should also include a notifications to Agents with Android phones that do not meet the Strong Integrity check of the Google Play Integrity API as discussed here. If you receive this message you will not be able to play Ingress past May 27th on your phone and you will need to either use another phone or remove any modifications done to the phones operating system to ensure that you meet the Strong Integrity check.

🔸The bracket around Portals has been replaced with an animated triangle bracket. This does not only affect brackets during Missions but everywhere else as well, like in Drone View. If the brackets are shown during a mission they turn red if you can interact with them.
🔸The name and level of Portals in the Portal Details screen was moved. It is now part of the box that shows additional gameplay information for the Portal, depending on the screen (Resonators/Mods/Recharge).
