Standing for Truth

He always spoke the truth, whether he was happy or angry.

He stood by the truth, even when it seemed to go against his own interests or those of his friends.

When he was outnumbered and even one additional fighter could make a decisive difference, he was asked to seek help from polytheists to fight other polytheists. But he refused, saying, "I do not seek the help of a polytheist."

He advised his companions: "Accept the truth from anyone who speaks it, even if that person is a foreign enemy, and reject falsehood from anyone who speaks it, even if that person is a close friend."

The following words were inscribed on the hilt of his sword: "Speak the truth, even if it seems to go against you."

It is not right for him who holds fast to Your cord to be abandoned,
nor proper for him who seeks the sanctuary of Your might to be surrendered or disregarded.
My God, empty us not of Your defending,
strip us not of Your guarding,
and protect us from the roads of destruction,
for we are in Your eye and under Your wing!

The Impact of Supplication 🤲

Imam al-Rida (as) would always tell his companions:

"You are advised to adhere to the weapon of the Prophets."
They asked, "What is the weapon of the Prophets?"
The Imam (as) answered, "Supplication."

He also quoted a saying about Prophet Moses (as):

Musa b. 'Imran (as) said, 'O Allah! Are You far to shout to you or are You near to whisper to You?'
Allah said, 'I sit with those who remember Me.'
Moses said, 'I am sometimes in a state that Your Greatness prevents me from talking to You'
Allah said, 'O Moses! Talk to Me and remember Me in any state'

Imam Reza (as) said:

There are some grades of self conceit. One among them is that the evil acts of a servant gets decorated to him and he takes them for good deeds and boasts and glutts about them and considers them as nice acts performed by him. And one of them is that a servant acquires faith and belief upon Allah and then boasts of a favour conferred upon Allah, where as, Allah has done him a favour in it.

Finally, a group of people, although in minority, is needed to form the core of the army of that great peacemaker. Flowers should grow among this burning hell to be the beginning of a flower garden; saplings should be grown in this heath in order to promise the spring for the others.

Extraordinary aware, brave, compassionate, devoted persons should be trained for this act, although generations pass one after another for this purpose, until the main reservations appear and main members of the revolution are gathered, and it also need time.
